Entrance Preview :

College entrance exam. I knew a few people I trust who referred me. The entrance exam was followed by a face to face interview which lasted for few mins and that was it.

Course Curriculum Overview :

First semester was all basic computer science. There was good faculty for networking, distributed systemds, algoithms, advanced operating systems and advanced DBMS.

Internships Opportunities :

Pretty good companies. In those days it was around 15K however there were companies which did offer 25K then. Mass recruiters were SAP, EMC and GE. A number of startups were called on the startup day.

Placement Experience :

Pretty good in the days I did. Average offer used to be 5.5 lakhs + in 2008. The placement used to be invariably 100 %. The highest offers went up to about 9 to 10 lakhs then.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

In those days it was close to 4 lakhs for the entire 2 year course. It was fifty thousand per semester and mess and hostel was compulsory so that added up to four lakhs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Loans were readily available from Indian bank. No scholarships that i am aware of. I believe there were some scholarships from SAP but it wasnt easy to get them.

Campus Life :

There wasnt much sports except the annual cricket compettions. Lot of fun in labs lot of computer games in labs after college time. It used to be fun filled labs where people could be found throughout the night.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network is pretty good and people get in touch over issues over the college group. The alumni group being present in good organizations helps when switching jobs.

Exam Structure :

First semester was hectic. Lots of labs and unexpected quizzes. But it was manageable. From second semester things were fun. Some professors went for open ended quizzes, open book exams and some went for the usual style of evaluation.

Faculty :

I took courses in Distributed systems and the faculty was very experienced and good to give a direction. The exams were open ended and it was fun doing all the quizzes.

Placement Experience:

As Mtech is 2 years course, in the final year students are eligible for placements. Companies offer both full-time jobs and internships. the average package will be 6-8 lakhs per anum. only a few core companies like L&T, WSP, and prestige will come for recruitment. and there will be no mass recruitment by these companies. only a few students will get placed.

Placement Experience:

In a short period of time, the college has achieved extremely high placement rates. The college was able to achieve a placement rate of 80%. The highest package was approximately 25 LPA, and the average package was approximately 13 LPA. That is an excellent accomplishment for a new college. The college placement panel was successful in inviting over 100 plus companies to participate in the college placement drive.

Placement Experience:

During my graduation year, IIT Dharwad had a staggering placement rate of 95%. Microsoft, Nasdaq, Air Asia, TCS, Cognizant, Express Analytics, Sohum Innovations, MAQ Software's, Larson and Toubro, and others were among the major recruiters. 60% of the students were placed in information technology, with the remainder in core engineering, education, and research and development. These companies even provided summer internships to us in the final semester. The highest package available was 21 lakh rupees, while the average remuneration was 12 lakh rupees.

Remarks:

The only negative remark about the college is that some official jobs take a lot of time due to governmental issues. Other that that all the facilities provided are great. Even transportation inside is provided free of cost.
