The best that engineering has

Remarks :

My experience with the Mechanical Engineering department of St. Thomas College was a pleasant one. The beauty of the location reflects in the college's infrastructure. College is added up with the best faculty members who inspire students to do better every day. Being located in a remote place it has all the beauty in it.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The STC's course curriculum mainly focuses on the basics of engineering at an initial stage like for the first semesters so that it can be easier for the students to know well about engineering and can help them develop self clarification of the concepts.

Placement Experience :

Internships for the first year students and the interviews for the last year students are included in STC. With not just known companies but the international companies are too invited for the selection process and students are selected on the basis of their interviews with good and fair stipends. Companies like Tata consultancy services, Ek technologies, etc.select students as an employee in their firms.

College Events :

Not just the college events but festivals are celebrated in STC with full pleasure and excitement like, Onam. There is tech fest, mech fest, sports day, arts day that truly unites students to interact and work with one another. With the participation of management, staff and the students college organises these events.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee Structure for b.tech in Mechanical Engineering is quite feasible. Almost all courses have same fee structure for the ones those who get admission by qualifying the cut off it is INR 211000 it may vary from the quota ones.

Campus Life :

The participation in the NSS, UNAI chapters really help students to get more out of them. There is also cultural fests with almost 100% students participation. Students who are from different culture and place join STC but stay as a family here.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel availability is in good condition. There are separate hostels for boys and girls with fees of almost 43200 INR per year. Food available is good and sharing room facility is present with almost 4-6 students in each room.

Admission :

I grabbed my seat in the Mechanical Engineering department of St. Thomas College, Kerala after the college announced its cut-off for the KEAM entrance examination. I got all the documentation done and with finishing of all the procedures I was the part of STC.

Faculty :

Faculty of the college is too good. They are all PhD and M.tech degree holders and also having experience of years in the engineering field. They shared all their experiences with us and also quite often they called their friends who are working in the same engineering field to share their experiences and knowledge about the field with the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum contains a vast area of nursing aspects and they include OSKI as a new component of the nursing curriculum which prepares as well enough to face the job interviews ahead. But the time limit is so short that we find it difficult to complete the syllabus on time. As the syallabus has changed to semester system we are expected to write exams more frequently but that is good as it helps as to improve our writing skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Architecture is a tough and time taking course, the syllabus fine in the first three years but later on it becomes hectic. Maybe the syllabus can be reduced and I feel that five years is too long for architecture degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course mainly because of the job opportunities. There is plenty of teaching and non-teaching staff in the college. All the teaching staff has Mastered nursing and all are very talented teachers. The teaching method is lecturing and av aids are also used by the teachers like projectors. The exams are conducted after the completion of each unit. It's an average tough exam to score good marks. The only problem is that exams will be conducted daily and the personal behavior of some staff may vary from person to person.

No campus placement is provided by college because it is a government college. After getting degree I planned to practice in Kerala high court and also wants to attempt judicial service examination. I also planned to join LLM at central University or in Canada. In Canada there are many opportunities for LLB graduates.
