Review of my college

Remarks :

New Horizon institute of technology and management comes under Mumbai University, so the admission process was through dte and exams, academic year calender was by the Mumbai university itself. Overall my experience in college was average. The college is situated in the middle of Thane and Borivali which makes traveling difficult and rough due to heavy traffic. The infrastructure is vast. Faculty members and other staff are very cooperative. The college timings are 9-5 pm and students are not allowed to leave the campus before 5 pm unless and until any appropriate reason to leave the campus, for this student, need a gate pass which is signed by respective student class teacher, head of department and Principal's stamp.only if the student has the above he/she are allowed to leave. Practicals are not conducted properly. The teaching faculties are well experienced. A separate Placement cell is been organized, but for civil, only 2-3 students got placement out of 60.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The faculty is well experienced but teaching is not up to the marks. First, the college was only for girls till 2017, back then the students were less as compared to now when it's co-ed. There are theory lectures for one hour and there are practicals periods of two hours. I was a civil branch, so in our case practicals were not conducted because machinery and instrument were not working or unavailability of either one of them. Students were made sit ideally but were not allowed to leave campus even if no teaching was been conducted.

Placement Experience :

Placement is for final year students. In the civil engineering branch, no such companies related to civil engineering were visited.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees structure is based on category system i.e SC, ST, OBC, OPEN. For SC, St fees were 10,000-12,000 per year.OBC it was 45,000-55,000 per year and for open 75,000-89,000 per year. For open category no scholarships but for EBC,ST,SC scholarships by Mumbai university are there. Exam fees were there for OPEN 750 per semester and 250 for re severed class. Backlog fees per semester varied according to a number of backlogs and reserved categories.

Campus Life :

The infrastructure is quite big. Annually there is one tech-fest held and one Annual day and sports day held per year. The library has quite a wide range of technical books and magazines. Students can issue 2 books at a time with their Library card. Classrooms have projectors in almost every class.

Talking about placements, most of the placements occurs in CSE and IT branch, but surprisingly in the Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, the Mechanical branch has the same placements comparatively just the fact is that the package is less.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Placement Experience:

Students are encouraged to take internships from the moment they are confident and can handle responsibility. They are eligible for placements after semester 4. Approximately 60+ companies visit the campus every year and they take an average of 4-5 offers. For instance, the highest package can be 40+lpa from Microsoft. 90-100% placements happen every year. My plan after getting the degree is to acquire a placement and work with the organization.

Remarks:

The college Bajaj Institute of Technology, Wardha is very reputed college as it is Shiksha Mandal's college. I saw many advertisement about this college throughout the year and that's why choose to take admission in it.

Placement Experience:

Till now no company has visited. 2 students are selected and that is with their own efforts. Not having any job referral because hardly few students are placed. In startup one group won the hackathon and I guess they are doing their startup thing

Remarks:

Positive are all mentioned throughout the form Also to mention they really keep the college clean and many trees around the institute which gives nice vibes. Negative can be attendance issue which is actually not enforced by institute but by Mumbai University to which we are affiliated
