Remarks :
Management is good and prompt. All queries are answered without any hesitation. All in all, a good college is defined by good management and Sinhgad indeed is a good college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is well organised and up to date for most of the part. Some improvements are needed in elective subjects which feel a bit outdated. Extra courses like STP(Student Training Program) help in boosting confidence of students. Filed visits are organised regularly to improve practical knowledge.
Placement Experience :
Many big companies visit every year to this college. Average package is around 3. 5 LPA. The Placement Cell is one of the oldest and most experienced cell in the entire state. Companies like Hyundai, Atlas, Tata, Daimler, Infosys, TCS, Cognizant etc. visit this college every year. Good roles are offered to the deserving students.
College Events :
Sinhgad Karandak is one of the most renowned college fest conducted by Sinhgad institutes. It is divided into 2 parts, first is the technical events and demonstration in which students demonstrate their engineering skills and out of the box thinking abilities. The other part is cultural in which various events are held wherein students are able to nurture their artistic side. Management of the entire Karandak event is done by students under the supervision of various faculty members. People from all around the country participate in these events.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee for production course is RS. 4. 4 lakh. Everything including Placement drives and Student training programs is included in the fee. A refundable deposit of 4000 is to be paid at the start of the academic session and is refunded promptly after completion of the course. The fee breakdown is provided with the brochure of the college and no extra fee is to be paid.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Scholarships are available for EBC and SC/ST students. Scholarships are available to the tune of RS. 200000. Forms are available at the office to apply for the same.
Campus Life :
Sinhgad has a huge campus. Extra cirriculat acticities are in abundance and are available from 7 in the morning till 9 pm. Students from all over the country as well as other countries study at this college. Gender diversity is average. It is good for CS IT and E&TC courses while not so good for core courses. Tolerance is one of the most important point in Sinhgad and everyone is tolerant here. No one will ever face any kind of discrimination here.
Hostel Facilities :
I hadn't opted for hostel however having food friends in hostel, I can provide with some information. The hostel room is of decent size with 4 people sharing each room. Approximate fee of hostel is 40, 000 and mess charges are around 21, 000 per year. Being surrounded by densely populated area, PGs are available in plenty. The average rent is about 7000 for 1 bhk flat and 9000 for 2bhk flat.
Alumni/Alumna :
Sinhgad has a strong and widespread alumni network. It helps a lot to students searching for jobs. Being a 30 year old college, the alumni network consists of more than 1 lakh students inclusive of all branches.
Admission :
I got into this college through DTE round. After JEE, 4 merit lists are declared and colleges are alloted according to your rank. Sinhgad ranks amongst one of the top colleges in Pune as well as Maharashtra. My choices were either Production or Mechanical and I opted for Production as it has more subjects related to management which is my forte.
Faculty :
Faculty of the college for production course is decent. Just try to stay in their good books and they will help you throughout your college journey. Faculty members are quite knowledgeable and easily reachable. Average age is around 45 years and all faculty members have completed their master's degree from prestigious institutes while 2 members have co. oleted doctorate.
