College Review

Remarks :

I feel the college management is doing its best in serving all its student with numerous facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The learning and curriculum at IIIT-D is excellent. Though, while trying to cope up with the curriculum, one has to work much harder, but it is definitely worth it! The knowledge and hands-on experience which this college facilitates, makes the student grow practically, which is in-turn a great way to prepare on for the industrial backgrounds. Industrial visits were planned for us, but due to COVID-19, it wasn't possible.

Placement Experience :

Qualcomm, NXP Semiconductors, Continental, SanDISK, MathWorks, STMicroelectronis, Synopsys, Almost every student from our senior batch has either got a FT or is on an internship. Talking about the percentage, it would be around 96-97%. All the companies have their own criteria for selecting and shortlisting students. The minimum criteria to sit for placements is of cgpa > 6.5. The institute organizes several mock tests and also sends material which contains questions from previous year placements.

College Events :

We have a tech fest and a cultural fest. Odyssey is the cultural fest, it is conducted for two days, we have a star night on the second day. ESYA is our tech fest. Also, we have farewells and welcoming for the freshers. Other functions include holi celebrations, Dandiya night, Independence day and Republic day, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure is fine. Not so feasible though. But according to the facilities, it is quite fine. The college accepts DD and online payments too. No extra charges are paid, except that of the admission fee. Also, the fee structure is quite transparent.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No. But, students do opt for educational loans. The students who have qualified GATE get a stipend of approx 12400 sponsored by AICTE.

Campus Life :

I may not be accurate, but people of both genders are almost equal in number. Student parties and functions include freshers, Dandiya night, etc. We have several workshops around the year, students do participate on many and learn so as to improvise their skills. Also, the college has several societies Incubation center, Entrepreneur cell, Cultural committee, sports committee, student senate, etc. The labs here at IIITD are magnificent. They are well-equipped with systems are several apparatuses. They are accessible 24*7, which is the best part at the college. Well, entirely the college and its events and activities are great with all kinds of availabilities.

Hostel Facilities :

yes. Hostels are quite equipped with numerous facilities. No student suffers with any of the commodities. There's a Doctor, two full-time nurses, we have microwaves, kettles, etc. Hostel rooms are single, double and triple sharing. All the rooms have AC's and Blowers in them. A study table, a bed and an almirah. Hostels are quite much in number. Even the residents close to college premises opt for hostels, none of them have to pay extra rentals even.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, the seniors are good to communicate. If one finds a person from IIIT-D on LinkedIn, etc. and asks for some concerns, the person definitely reverts back with a solution of the situation he/she already had gone through.

Admission :

I always wanted to pursue post-graduate. And, according to my interests in VLSI and digital electronics i chose to opt for this domain. IIIT-D is an highly esteemed institute. It has good curriculum and serves its students with certain industrial exposure too. The teachers here are highly qualified and have a great research background. These many characteristics made me choose this college.

Faculty :

Yes the professors here are highly educated. All of them hold doctrait degree. All of them have atmost 12-15 years of industry experience. Also, many of them are retired IIT deans or HODs. Their average age would be 40-50 years, but there are young ones too.

Placement Experience:

Being one of the top institute of the nation, it offers very good placement but given the scenario of recession in the tech industry there is some slow down in the hiring in placement too. if I am not able to get the placement at the end of the course then I think I won't face any difficulty getting placement on my own but let's see what happens.

The course curriculum is very well written and industry oriented. It is based on the rising need of Robotics and AI in India. The curriculum is well planned and will help to gain a lot of knowledge in Mechanics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Mathematics and Electronics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of this course is good. Professors are supportive in nature. And one year is for project which help to learn new skills and enhance the previous one help to survive in real world. But in that one year there are some subjects which we have to study but it should not be there it should be completely dedicated to project work. Overall this is a very good course which help to train a student to learn technical part of chemistry or polymers. And there are a lot of scope in this field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course workload is heavier, so it would prepare you for real-world work. Courses can be chosen from 2nd semester, so you are free to select courses of your likeness. There would be a minor exam and a major exam and a lot of assignments.
