Remarks :
The college management is not particularly very good, and also the principle of the college has just changed.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is set by the all India architecture association, therefore the curriculum would be same for the whole India and regarding the exams, there would be 3 unit tests in which the third test would be considered as the model exam and there is the final semester exam conducted by the Anna University. The curriculum is definitely satisfying regarding the industry-specific knowledge, there are few industrial visits which the college conducts.
Placement Experience :
The college had no placements as per the course structure. In architecture degree, there are no placements from the campus as we have in engineering. The students have to go searching for jobs, or some will take up higher education. So this cannot be considered regarding the architecture course. According to the recent syllabus there will be an internship for a six months period in the 9th semester.
College Events :
There are very less events conducted by our college, even you can say no, but they allow you to the other events which various other colleges conduct, which is a bright side. There must be many extracurricular activities which should be taken in the architecture department.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is feasible if you are through the Anna university counseling and if you got the admission through the management quota there would be a capitation fee which would be around 3-5 lakhs and the yearly fee would be around 1.5 lakhs the mode of payment which I pay the fees is through DD which the college recommends.
Fees and Financial Aid :
If your admission is through Anna university counseling there is a scholarship provided by the government which is around 2K-10K, the amount fluctuates whether you are a resident of Chennai or from other districts. Usually, other district students get higher scholarships compared to Chennai students.
Campus Life :
The college has good infrastructure in all new buildings, a lot of vegetarian varieties are available to eat at an affordable price. A lot of blocks are there, food in the canteen is not good, but in food stalls, it is okay. Non-vegetarian is not allowed. The college is too far and doesn't allow students to leave the campus on the student's will. The gender ratio is almost equal in a sense. There are students coming from various districts around Tamilnadu, therefore students are diversified.
Hostel Facilities :
No, I have not opted for hostel, few of my friends say that the hostels are not recommended as the food is very average there and also there wont be proper drafting tables in the hostels, as an architecture student there will be many works and homework's so the drafting table plays an important role those works.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yeah, they are helpful at times not every time. Most of our seniors are working at a good firm. Some have even started a firm of their own, which is a good thing because nowadays it's hard to find people in a career related to what they have studied in their UG. Some students have even opened a cafe as their side business. This expands their contacts, and this automatically leads to a lift in projects at their firm.
Admission :
The selection process is through single window counseling conducted by Anna University and there is also separate entrance exam NATA which one should clear for pursuing architecture as a career. It is affiliated to the anna university. One can also get the admissions through the management quota, but still, he or she should pass the NATA exam at least with the minimum marks.
Faculty :
Teachers provide knowledge out of the books too. As mentioned before, the institution focuses on skills so the faculty do their best. This college helps us to dig deeper into the subject. The internship offers provided by other institutes outside the campus are accepted by the college and encourages the students to excel in it as well.
