LIFE BEYOND HOME

Remarks :

To say they have the worst alumni association with no gathering and helping mentality for others as prescribed above. I have went to almost every colleges of the state for competitions and other programs, the best of the best infrastructure and campus till date I have seen here at my college, to say they have more than 50 lathe machines and have all type of working machines as we study the theory part during class. So if in doubt of any machinery we can go there and check it out for ourselves under the guidance of a faculty. It makes the learning process enjoyable and easy to understand.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Actually our college is doing their best to make us a perfect professional. But our University which is A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technological University is very poor in conducting exams and their schedules of exam structure is carried out in a very poor manner. Postponment of exam at the day of examination, no fixed timetable, syllabus changing etc.

Placement Experience :

We Mechanical Engineering students didn't have any sort of placements over the four years. But that was not the case for other branches of Engineering, they had many opportunities since our 3rd year and a lot of them got placed especially girls got more campus placement than boys.

College Events :

We do celebrate a lot our management and faculties are in full support, let it be IV, Tech fest, cultural fest or even Holi celebration. They never say no, the only thing they say is that let it be in a controlled manner. We have Tecno-Managerial-Cultural Fest which is known as Akharva and Tech Fest which is there every year known as Kapricious. Akharva is a fest which comes in a year gap.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The Fees I pay my college is 50,500/- per year, For me its feasible. Because college liked I mentioned earlier is having 1,00,000/- per year. But they have much more faculties and services over there. We have a caution deposit of 10,000/- which is a one time deposit and 1,00,000/- is buying 1,00,00/- as caution deposit which is also a one time deposit.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I have studied my whole education life without any educational loans or any sort of educational scholarships till date.

Campus Life :

In our class Mechanical Engineering B batch gender ratio was 1:0 (Class of 60) in which one is the number of boys and zero is the number of girls. Our other batch class which was Mechanical Engineering A batch gender ratio was 59:1 (Class of 60) in which fifty nine is the total number of boys in the class and only one girl.

Alumni/Alumna :

Very poor alumni network. Frankly speaking I am now jobless, I get more job offers from my school alumni association (ROSA - Rajagiri Old School Association) than college which doesn't have a name or at least a watsapp group for seeking advice or any of that sort.

Admission :

I wrote all Kerala Entrance Exam conducted by the Kerala state government (KEAM), and got a rank 36307. I opted for around 5 colleges in the allotment process and got allotted in 2 colleges. One was Matha College, Paravur and other was KMEA. Since KMEA was the nearest of the two I selected KMEA and took admission there based on my merit list position.

Faculty :

I will say they are best but not the best in Ernakulam, I always loved to study at RSET - Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology. Due to the lack of money I couldn't. Majority of my friends are studying there I mean my +2 friends, Since I studied my schooling in Rajagiri Higher Secondary School, Kalamassery. They have the best faculties in Ernakulam. But our faculties are our best friends, they teach us more than what is there in the books. That's the main highlight of faculties at KMEA Engineering college.

Students who have completed their sixth semester can start their placements. Infosys, Wipro,TCS, digitalcore, USTGlobal , Sutherland, Accenture etc had taken placements from last years. The average package starts from 120000 lpa and highest was 700000lpa. This year itself more than 800 students was placed in different companies.
