Remarks :

The students union is one pain point as it interfered in events and sports activities.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This was a 3 years honours course. It had 3 final exams every year. The course was primarily theory in the first year then the last 2 years had several lab experiments to judge students of their knowledge and credibility. Final exams each year also consisted of lab experiments for each different module.

Placement Experience :

The placement and internship opportunities are not so prominent as this is primarily a honours course.

College Events :

One social event every year organised by the college. This is the biggest event in a calendar year. Other colleges were invited to participate. There were many performances catering to music, dance, recitation and debate followed by a music performance from a popular band in the city. There were other small events organised by different departments during the summer.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is not so expensive because partial funding is available from the university as this college is affiliated to University of Calcutta. Since this is a government funded university most of the courses are almost free to study. So students from low income and below poverty family could study for free.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I didn't opt for any educational loan for this course. Fees could be paid each year and in installments to the university.

Campus Life :

Asutosh college is known for its diversity. There is always equal opportunity for everyone from any background. Many department had mostly female students while other departments had mostly the same number of male and frmale students. My department had a gender ratio of about 65 to 35 male to female ratio.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni network is large since this is almost a 100 year old University. Seniors were helpful and friendly with newly admitted students. Even they organised events so that new students could know their seniors and alumni.

Admission :

I had keen interest towards how electronic systems work and what it takes to build one. So naturally this was my choice. This was an Honours course so the entrance criteria was a bit high. I got admitted to this course via merit list selection. The admission committee mainly used the percentage of grades one acquired in 12th board exam.

Faculty :

Faculty is the beauty and main attraction of this course. Most of the faculty had several years of research experience. They were few of the best professors in University of Calcutta in the Physics & Electronics department. There were at least 3 lectures each day on different modules of this course conducted by 3 different professors.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The growing need of technology in job field specifically encouraged me to take this course .Here you can do masters after your bachelors to expand your knowledge and can give GATE exam also to study further in grade a tier colleges.Difficulty of exams was moderate in odd sems and a little bit easy in even sems but that does not mean you can pass easily in honours subject without studying.Yeah the syllabus of cu should be upgraded to focus more on technical and practical knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview:

First of all, I love Statistics. Also, there is a great job opportunity after reading the statistics here. A BSc in Statistics(Hons) covers a wide range of topics. The scope of the program prepares graduates for careers in data analysis, research and various other fields that require strong quantitative and analytical skills. At present, there are 9 teachers and 25 students in our year. Innovative Teaching Methods: #Audio & Video Tools. #Stimulating Classroom Environment #Welcome New Ideas #Refer to Books On Creativity #Introduce Lessons Like a Story #Regular Assignments #Seminar by the students & professors There are two semesters in an academic year and there is a short mid-semester in between each semester here. To clear the exams you need to read class notes and books properly.

From the final semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like TATA TCS, Bandhan Bank, etc come here for a campaign. Highest package is 6 lakh and the average package is 3 lakh. 60% of students get placement here. My plan is to go for higher studies after completing my degree.

The college is good. But the college management is sometimes adamant to their views. However, this is always not the case. Overall it is a friendly atmosphere.
