Student's Review On Maharaja Agrasen Institute Of Management Studies - [MAIMS], New Delhi

Remarks :

Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies is the best institute for Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication. This institute have the best labs for practical exposure. Also they organise visits to media houses and production house, etc. for increasing the practical knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Syllabus is updated and we are provided Industrial exposure as well. Faculties are very knowledgeable and experienced. They guide throughout the college life and gives the best advice. My Favourite professor is Dr. Nisha Singh. She always encourages every student to do something different.

Internships Opportunities :

Dilli News 7, Reporter, No stipend, Interview

Placement Experience :

There is no placement cell for our program. Student of engineering do have a placement cell. We get placements through out connections from internships, faculty's reference, alumni network, etc. There are many notable alumni of our program like Tonakshi Kalra- blogger and Youtuber(worked with Bhuvan Bam as well), Yash Khatri- event manager and host (He usually get featured in Delhi times), Ankita Dubey(anchor in eTV 9).

College Events :

Tech and Mridung (technical fest), Genesis (Cultural fest), Srijan(Media fest), Chhayankan (photography fest), Commfiesta(commerce society fest). They are organised every year by the students. Sponsership participants are also huge in numbers. All the college's from Delhi are invited through social media handles. Not all of them participate but some do participate.

Campus Life :

The campus is very big and there is cricket ground, volleyball court, basketball court, stadium for indoor games as well. Wifi is available but only for faculties. The equipments are effectively in working condition and proper guidance is provided to use them also.

Placement Experience:

The Placement Cell of the college is very active. Students can avail themselves of the placement opportunities from the fifth semester. I have been selected as a content writer in the fifth semester. I was offered a 4.6 LPA in the esteemed company. More than 40 percent of students end up doing getting jobs. I have decided to earn some experience as a content writer and then apply for the MA journalism program.

Placement Experience:

For the courses like Architecture, Engineering, Law, Mass Communication, many big companies come for placements in Jamia. As my course is a Bachelors's subject under Arts, there aren't many placement opportunities. But I hope to pursue my Master in History after which I would try to get placed.

Placement Experience:

The placements for BA Program in particular are slightly lower as compared to other courses. Most students from the course opt for higher studies but the few who choose to sit for placements find it hard to land a job. Campus placements start in 5th semester and continue for the entire final year. A student is free to sit for as many companies as they like, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria like CGPA, course, etc. Most companies hire a maximum of 4 students owing to the small population of students at St. Stephen's. The highest package in 2021 was 18LPA and the average package is about 6 LPA-8 LPA.

Placement Experience:

Around 70% of the students get good campus placements, especially in the private sector. The average package for the students is 6,000,00 per annum. The highest package offered to the student varies between 25 lakhs to 35 lakhs. My plans are different as I want to pursue my higher education.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is good. It has tie ups with reputed news channels. But in our course, the college does not provide internships, students have do it themselves and they have to prepare their own youtube channel for work.

Remarks:

The management is an equally hardworking and efficient team like the faculties. They maintain a good relationship with the students as well as with the teachers and are approachable for both the parties. Their functioning has ensured that the college runs smoothly in terms of presenting itself to others.

The college timings and the unprofessional conduct of many teachers and the office staff has made college an exhausting experience. There are no proper channels for conveying our complaints and suggestions.
