Remarks :

The major reasons which lured one towards TISS ranges between it's all India rank in social work or social sciences (Rank 1 University in India) to its state-of-the-art facilities and faculties of the social sector. The brand image of TISS boosts one's resume, which is much beneficial in this scarce job market. TISS offers 100% placement to all its students with a range of salary from 3.5-38 lakhs per annum. It also has the Student Exchange Program with different top foreign universities in this sector. Overall, the TISS experience is one-of-a-kind and happy for all of the TISSians.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course Social Work in Rural Development is the best in TISS Tuljapur campus in terms of placement and future scope. As it's a social college of repute, still the syllabus for a few subjects are of ancient times but the fieldwork exposure in TISS gives you immense experience about the ground reality of working sectors. It conducts one fieldwork each and every semester for a month long which are in a village (first), an NGO (second), a Govt. Organization (third) and many jaw-dropping internship opportunities from top NGOs in the breaks. There are 22 faculties in TISS, Tuljapur among whom Dr Sampat Kale is a very nice professor.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, I interned in Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education as a Research Intern for two months (October and November 2019) where I had an in-depth independent research on the livelihood profile of a village. I got a 20000 stipend for this two months internship.

Placement Experience :

A faculty guided and student operated Career Guidance and Placement Cell is there for arranging placements. Companies like MP Rurban Mission, Tata Trusts, Jaipur Rugs Foundation, State Livelihood Missions of Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Orissa etc. are a few of our top recruiters. Each and every student are 100% well placed in different positions like the executive officer, assistant manager, livelihood officer etc. Students do internships in NABARD, OXFAM, ACTION-AID, JSLPS, Jaipur Rugs Foundation, PRADAN, Social Audit dept, and many other reputed NGOs and govt. departments.

College Events :

TISS, Tuljapur is known for its unique cultural exchange programs with students from over 20 states and surprisingly cultural programs of almost all possible states are conducted there. There's an open amphitheatre with 500 seating capacity bounded with big trees all around for all the performances. Besides that, it has literary society, magazine, e-magazine, Samvaad (open debate & discussion forum), annual sports meet, National Rural Youth Festival (NRYF), Policy Symposium, Seminars and many more interesting events to be engaged in.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Any particular institute based scholarship isn't there, though a dedicated scholarship cell is there for arranging scholarships from student's respective state governments and central government as per their reservations. Students are advised to take bank loans and guide if needed. But, they have to arrange education loans on their own responsibility.

Campus Life :

The total 100 acres TISS Tuljapur campus is covered with lavish green. Actually, It's on a hill. The major advantage of this campus which I find most relevant is it's 5 km away from the nearest locality, hence it's a completely calm, serene and pollution free campus with peacocks, deers roaming around the campus freely. Here, you can access well equipped library both offline and online. The library remains open from 9 am to 2 am (the next day) and there are almost 180 seats in the library. A computer centre is also there, where people who don't have a laptop can work there. There are almost 150 desktops with a good internet connection. Many big separate playgrounds are there for basketball, cricket, football, volleyball, badminton and arrangements for carrom, table tennis, chess and many more indoor games are also there.

Hostel Facilities :

The campus is 100% residential and boys and girls have separate hostels inside the campus. In the first year, the boys have to adjust to a fabricated hostel which becomes irresistible hot in summer. Besides, the all-time electricity and water facilities are available. Though the region is a water scarce, that's why there's some water scarcity in the summer days. From the second year onwards and for all the girls, the hostel facilities are very good. Four three storied large buildings are there for the hostels, with all state-of-the-art facilities.
