Remarks

The college management is very bad and wrong timed. The office issues are really hectic and time consuming

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Honestly the college falls under the Calcutta University. And it is one the worst University for exams. The university puts a lot of effort into the exams rather than making the students ready for the future. It's like a factory making machines only for exams. Lack of time not so much practical practice.

Placement Experience

0.5

As it is a govt. College no in campus placement options are available. No companies come to this College. Every student have to get a job outside the campus.

College Events

3.5

I haven't seen any technical events yet as it's my 1st year just. But the college's freshers party is a big hit. Other cultural events include blood donation camp, basanta utsav, Independence day celebration. Sports events also take place here like Cricket and football and a student can register for inter college competitions for cricket, badminton, football, tennis, and many more.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As it is a govt. College the fees structure is quite low here as compared to all the private colleges. In my course it's just 13k for each semester. The college enrollment form takes 400rs. For submission after that if someone gets selected then the admissions fee is 13k for my course, the mode is online payment and is Fully transparent.they also provide the payment slip for further issues. After this only the university registration is left which takes about 200rs and that mode is only cash. That's it.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college have all the govt. Availed scholarships for women mostly. I personally haven't opted for any scholarships. But one can opt for the scholarship from the college's office.

Campus Life

2.5

The gender is somewhere like 5:4 (boys:girls). Ragging is strictly prohibited in the campus. Labs are quite good no complaint in that. I just wished the classes can be air-conditioned. The students union does someone politics in the campus but it's minimal. No issues with religious matter, all religions students are here in an unity.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are just love. I didn't expect the seniors to be this much helpful. Every senior of every year is very much friendly to the juniors and a unity prevails among them.

Admission

After the 12th exams when the results the out. the admissions process starts within 7 days. A student have to go to the college website to fill the enrollment form in which he/she gives her details and the obtained marks. The eligible list gets published within 3days and after that those eligible students have to be physically present at the college for registration along with all the related documents.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is good. The teachers are good and friendly. Some few are strict it's no big deal every colleges have some like them. But over all everyone is nice to the students. The lectures are quite boring. Some teachers teach with the help of books infront of then that's a con. Lectures are not so good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

The curriculum for the Physical and Inorganic chemistry are upto the mark and I felt improvement in teaching style and curriculum is required for Organic Chemistry part. The difficulty of Internal examination can be improved a bit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.
