Sunanda Bajaj's Review On DJ Academy For Managerial Excellence - [DJAME], Coimbatore

SB

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Course Curriculum is just amazing in the college. It is well maintained and followed by both staffs and students in the college. The MBA programme is a two-year full time programme with each academic year being divided into two semesters. There are in total 16 required courses and 8 electives. The course curriculum carries a credit of four per course and, together with the project work which also carries a credit of four, the total number of credits to be earned by a student for the award of the MBA degree is one hundred.

Placement Experience :

The college provides 100% placement to all students under different departments. DJAME has been so consistent in offering excellent placements to the students year after year. There were about 17 companies offering placements to the students in the college in the last year. The highest salary package given by one of the companies was Rs.6.15 lac per annum. The average package given by all companies coming for recruitment was Rs. 3.56 lac per annum.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

A very feasible fee structure is followed by the college to educate every student equally on their field of interest. All the students under different department find it easy to pay the fees without affecting the economy of their own family. Every department has the same fee structure. The fee is split to be paid for every year. This fee structure includes the fee for both the semesters and is to be paid at the start of every year.

Campus Life :

There are many extracurricular activities provided by the college. There are excellent facilities provided to the students in the field of sports. Indoor and Outdoor sports facilities are available for students to choose as per their interest. The Academy also provides an extraordinary library which serves as a Learning Resources Centre to meet all the requirements of the students, faculty, and researchers.

Alumni/Alumna :

This alumni committee in the college is active with a mandate to Promote the formation of Alumni Chapters, increase the membership and maintain an updated alumni directory. The institute also facilitates alumnus-alumnus and alumni-student interaction through “get- togethers”. It arranges for guest lectures by the people in alumni. The college also keeps alumni informed about current DJAME activities through regular communications.

Admission :

In the college to get an admission the candidate can get the application form from the college directly or even by filling the form in online. The application fee can also be paid online. A merit list is followed in the college based on the marks obtained by the candidates in their 10th, 12thand qualifying degree examinations, work experience if any and also the scores obtained by them in the Common Entrance Test and their performance in the interview. Is considered for admission.

Faculty :

We find all the faculty members of our department to be very helpful in every way. Students are well guided by the staffs. They also take extra care and concern on the students who need their help in getting through the exams. Every staff under each department is highly graduated and most of the Staffs are qualified with their doctorate in specific fields. The college believes that the strength of an educational Institution lies in the quality of its faculty.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are handled by the Placement team of our college. More than 100 companies visit the campus for placements. Due to the rules of the placement team, the companies that visit the campus cannot be disclosed. The average stipend for summer internships is usually around 70-80k per month and the average package for the final placements is around 17 lakhs. The placements in the college are decent enough.

The placement committee organises all placement activities. A lot of opportunities are available. About 120 companies visited for final placements with a similar number of offers being made. The highest package is 25 lakhs. 100% placement has been recorded. Being a premier institute, lots of opportunities after education.

Placement Experience:

For the summer internships, certain big names come after the second month of starting college whereas the majority typically come around the second term which is from October to December. On account of Covid-19, the level of placement has come down drastically with most of the companies being startups. As far as final placements are concerned, there is a lot of scope for finance and moderate expectations for marketing and little to slim for operation roles. The placement percentage always becomes 95 or 100% either by forcefully putting students in irrelevant job roles or making them withdraw from the process.

Remarks:

The only problem in this college is the infrastructure. Most of the buildings are very old and especially our department building is quite old and prone to leakage during rain. Other than that the college is quite good and well equipped with a big library and wifi facilities are also provided.

As earlier said they need to focus on knowledge as well apart from results, at the end it's students life and career which need to quality. And also they should bring lots of companies so that there students can get settled.

Remarks:

Overall the College is a good college. But there are too many levels of hierarchy. We never really know who is the main head of the institution because there are so many people like Principal, Chairman, Director, Coordinator etc. The university the college is affiliated under is not good. Anna University is keen on looting student's money.
