Placement Experience

4.5

From the first year of a law degree, students of GIL are being sent for internships and this has been ensured by the internship and placement cell at GIL. For the better learning of all the aspects of law, an internship is made mandatory for the students at GIL. Geeta Institute of Law organizes an internship fair which is exclusive in itself and no other law college organizes. Eminent lawyers, law firms, corporates, NGOs and legal luminaries come to the campus to pick the students for internships and in this GIL has 100% placements. Students of GIL get internship opportunities in every semester and that too according to their choice of field. Eminent lawyers, law firms, and corporates are associated with GIL internship cell which provides constant support and practical exposure to the students of GIL for making their learning more effective and experience-based.

The college campus is widespread and separate arrangement for every activity is assigned within the campus. Student can entertain their interests by participating in different centres, societies and programmes. They are not restricted to academics only but can furnish their talents through other initiatives in the fields of sports, research and brain-storming. In the campus, 75% attendance is made mandatory for all the students which motivate them to stay attentive towards their academics and along with that they are motivated for research, seminars, sports and other such events. Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty is extremely poor, The pedagogy is weak and the lectures are the least interesting. Some professors are gems in this coal mine but the wider picture is abysmal. The teachers force you to write and the use of gadgets even for notes is discouraged. There is no academic calendar and exams can happen anytime with prior notification of a month, The results are also delayed; Expect anywhere between 4-6 months of the declaration of results.

In L.L.B. (Hons.), the student becomes eligible for placement after the completion of their second year for PPOs. Also, after giving their sixth semester exams, the students are eligible to sit in placement drives. For law, top tier law firms like Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Khaitan and Khaitan, Luthra and Luthra, litigation lawyers etc. visit the campus for placement drives. Over 90% of the students are provided placements with the aid of the university. My plans also include placement through college in law firm after completing my degree.
