Remarks :

The college has a very good infrastructure and its still growing. It has done well for a new IIT, is recruiting good faculties, providing good facilities to students. So thats my positive remark. But at the a same time it has to try to improve its placements and placement process, improve upon faculties teaching skills etc.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is same as Older IITs. In first year students of all branches have to study common paper mostly basic science like physics, chemistry and maths. After first year you get to study as per your branch. In each semester we have one mid-semester exam and one end semester exam. Industrial visits are organised. The curriculum is outdated and helps little in on campus placements. But seniors guide us well.

Placement Experience :

The highest package of 38. 00 Lakhs per annum has been offered by Microsoft, followed by DE Shaw Arcesium and CodeNation which has offered 33. 50, 32. 50 Lacs and 31 Lacs respectively. Apart from this, students have received tempting offers from Samsung, Mathworks, Goldman Sachs, MakeMyTrip, Sapient, Addverb, Optum, Cadence, Force Motors, ZS Associates, TCS R&D, Strand Life Science, LTI, LinkedIn, Saavn, Future First, Cognum, L&T ECC, Uber, L&T Heavy Engineering, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Aakash Institute and many more. Among the PSUs, ISRO and IOCL have visited the campus and offered job to the students.

College Events :

Anwesha, the annual techno-cultural fest of Indian Institute of Technology, Patna is held in the month of January–February every year. Footfall of 10000. Celesta is the annual Techno-Management Fest of IIT Patna. To promote technical and managerial enthusiasm amongst young and bright minds of our nation. Footfall of 5k. E- summit is the management fest of IIT Patna. Has a foot fall of 2k. IIT Patna also has a sports fest, tedx events, and many more branch fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure of IIT Patna is : Rs. 1. 2 lakhs per semester in which one lakh is tution fee and 20 thousand is hostel fee. Concessions are given on tution fees for economically backward sections which is 67% for person having income less than 5 LPA but greater than 1 LPA. Bank loans with interest waived is provided.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college offers the MCM scholarship for students belonging to economically backward section, this scholarship pays them around 8000 per year or more depending on necessity. SBI offers student loans with reasonable interest rates according to my knowledge.

Campus Life :

Extracurricular activities include the technical fest Celesta and Techno cultural fest Anwesha and many other fests associated with cultural and sports activities. These fests are of good quality. Necessary Labs are there in every department with adequate equipment and facilities. Sports complex has been newly built, but the teams and training facilities are still a work in progress. Gender ratio is 1: 7.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are new. Many new hostels are being constructed. First years Btech share hostel with two other students. 2nd year with one other and single rooms for 3rd and 4th years. PhD and mtech get single rooms.

External Expense : Rs. 2000 - Rs. 4000

Alumni/Alumna :

Seniors are very friendly. They help in guiding us. They also teach us how to present models and projects to the external examiner. Our alumni come in our college and motivate us through speeches. Overall it is a great experience.

Admission :

The process of entering into any IIT is same. First apply for jee mains. You get to write jee mains twice. You get percentile based on the best one of the two exams you have given. if you qualify you can apply for jee advanced. On getting a good score in advanced you can choose a branch in any IIT.

Faculty :

Every week a course will have 3 lectures. If the course also has a lab then we would have a lab in the week too. Faculty are good. They have a strong research background. Many have done PHD in IITs and foreign institutions. They lack a bit in teaching skills though. But if you approach them personally they can help you lot more.

I was interested in this course for a very long time. Faculty members are very good here, they taught us very well all respective courses. All are very well-qualified teachers here with Ph.D. degrees from reputed colleges. Every semester duration is of 6months and this course is not very easy but not also very tough.

Internship opportunities

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placement after the 5th sem. A lot of services and core companies visit here like Alstom, TCS, HCl, Infosys, etc. Alstom offered 7.2 LPA to 15 students. Last year more than 50 percent of the students were placed. The placement is 100% in its branch. I am planning for higher education.

My experience with my college

Remarks:

It is a growing college with an aim to promote quality education amongst the students of Bihar. It is creating a peaceful environment for the students to explore their areas of interest. It is going to be a great college in the future.

Admission:

I appeared for the entrance exam that is CUCET which is required for the admission. The college considers the composite scores of CUCET along with the 10+2 marks in the science stream wherein physics and mathematics are the compulsory subjects.
