The academic curriculum and syllabus that is followed by Institute is strictly in line with the needs of a specialised Maritime course for future cadets. It covers all the sub-domains from hands on training to theoretical classes as a part of it. Semester wise system of testing is what that the institute follows and in two year duration four semester examinations are conducted.

As far as the placements are concerned Institute provide support for the job. However not everyone gets the placement through institutes support. On deck internship is a part of job in this domain. That is the placement that one gets involves the initial time period as an internship period. The institute only provides support for of the deck preparations and internship.

The fee of the program is as per the fee for any Maritime course that any private Institute charges. The total fee for the 2 year course is 3.75 lakh. At the time of admission a booking fee of of Rs 25,000 is to be paid. This is not refundable.

As far as my knowledge is concerned various state governments in India offer scholarships to students through different schemes on fulfillment of the respective eligibility criteria. Apart from that educational loans are also offered by private and public sector bank. One can avail the financial assistance either through scholarship or through loan.

The institute has much to offer as far as the extra-curricular activities are concerned. Our institute has a basketball court, swimming pool, playground etc for various activities. The classrooms and workshops are very well equipped. The library and seminar hall are also well maintained. Overall infrastructure of the institute is sound and nice.

Admission to the course is based on entrance test conducted by the institute for evaluation and assessment of the candidate. After qualification of the entrance test interview is conducted after qualifying which admission in the course is granted. I opted for the course because I have done a short term course in Maritime domain after my 10+2 so, I wanted to go for higher level program in the domain. This was the specialised institute in the city of my residence that is Chennai so I opted for it.

The faculty member in our Institute are highly professional and expert in the discipline. Most of them have served in full time roles in the Marine Engineering domain. Their professional knowledge and technical expertise comes in handy for we the students as they make things easier for us to learn.
