Tony Dutta's Review On Government College Of Art And Craft - [GCAC], Kolkata

Remarks :

The college campus is situated inside the museum and hence, all the students gets motivated towards their work. All the faculty member tries to set their best relationship with the students and this creates the positive atmosphere to do work and studies.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course of the college is very good. A skilled and professional courses are adopted by the college which a student needs to follow in every session. Students will explore and learn new aspects and fields in this stream.

Placement Experience :

As this is the government institution hence, the college name is enough in itself. As there are a few institute of arts and craft so the demand of the work in the outer world is huge in itself. The creative market is so huge in itself that every student get placed in good positions. The high brand companies like Decor, Fabindia etc come every year to hire creative heads.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee for the college is very low. I guess it is the institute with lowest fee cost for arts and craft. A student just needs to pay 2000 overall fee for the whole course of the two years. Facility is provided fullest by the college.

Campus Life :

The college's atmosphere is really very good and all the students gets indulge in the creative activities. So many events are organised by the college every week to support the creativity of the students. Also annual fest is organised with great enthusiasm.

Admission :

The admission process in the college is done on the basis of merit. A student needs to fill the online form which is released by the college on the official site. A student with 75% above marks in their secondary education can clearly get the admission in this college.

Faculty :

All the faculty members of the college are helpful and guide all the students throughout the whole process. Professors are highly educated and experienced and they welcome every thought and skill of a student as institution is all about being creative with new ideas.

Placement Experience:

Placement are good enough in this University. But for a high aiming person like me, the packages are too low to start. The college should get in touch with bigger brands and also with brands outside India. So that the proper desired placement approaches the college when it's time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

unlike other colleges, amity teaches both painting and applied for the first two semesters and even after that still has at least one subject related to the other option for the other semester. it also prepared you for real-world application by teaching other subjects like b com, EVS, foreign language, etc. the theory subject are straight to the point and the practical subjects even though lacking in the first two semesters have greatly improved due to the newly introduced module system where one practical subject is taught throughout the week

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was choosing this course because I loved painting and it's my passion and my dream was an artist and I am suitable for that course and I will fulfil my dream. BFA course has many departments like painting, crafting, graphics and printmaking Indian painting etc. And many students have talented in many specialisations and a maximum of 80-90 students in every department and 3-4 professors. Every faculty needs to qualify for class 12th and the teaching method was so good. The teachers also helped in all the cases and also if any student wants to learn others department work after specialisation department the teachers also help him for learning others work. The admission test exam time was 2 hours one hour for model drawing one our for composition with watercolour and after that the select the candidate and expose the list who can eligible for the viva test and it's too difficult after that they take viva and select the candidate and expose the shortlist finally.

Admission:

I got admission under my course by passing the Higher Secondary or equivalent in the year 2016. My selection was based on the written and practical examination both and i got my own materials for the same.

Placement Experience:

The college offers job placements in Advertising Agencies and recruited around 15 of the students from my batch to the states like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata etc. They promote students to open their own galleries and sell their creation to the world.
