Remarks :
On qualifying for the assessment exam I was granted admission to the course.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Fashion designing is more of a skill than a course. The course curriculum takes that fact in stride. Exams are held at the end of each year. However, in between unit or mid-term exams are held. Practical knowledge lies at the core of the course and theoretical knowledge plays a balancing role. Overall the syllabus of the course is well defined.
Placement Experience :
The placement rate is nice. Since the courses offered are mostly vocational and the domain itself is a skilled one job opportunities are not a problem. The college has tie-up with firms and one can also explore opportunities on his own. The internship must be searched on your own as the college has little to offer in terms of internship.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee is costly. For a 3 year PG program, one has to shell anywhere between 3.5 to 5 lakh rupees. I submitted around 1 lakh during admission in the first year. In a private college in Delhi, you can expect this kind of fee to be normal. You can opt for financial aid in form of loans or scholarships.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Scholarships are offered to students by Delhi Government. The scholarship offered by Delhi Government is based on the economic criteria and the academic performance of the student. I applied for the one and got selected. Central Government-run scholarships are also available for students. An educational loan facility is available for students as well.
Campus Life :
There is not much in terms of extra-curricular activities in our college. However, infrastructure is quite good and there is everything you need to make sure that learning happens in a comfortable environment. Events like designing competitions, annual fest, freshers' party are a common thing. Overall the atmosphere is nice and lively.
Admission :
I was interested in pursuing graduation in the domain of fashion designing. I opted for this college as the college has famous designer Manish Malhotra as the chief mentor. The selection is based on a small assessment conducted by the college.
Faculty :
The faculty as I said is highly experienced. Manish Malhotra is the chief mentor however he is a visiting faculty. Regular teachers are experienced in the domain of professional fashion designing and know what needs to be taught to help the students excel in the domain. They are supportive in nature and guide us throughout for our benefit.
