About psg

Remarks :

Don't get your hopes high, it's a good college in terms of academic parameters but for those wants to really enjoy this might not be the course not the college for you. The college is also packed tightly so we don't have to walk too much.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is same old way and hectic. Labs are usually fun but the working hours make it very hectic. The exam is a bit tough to crack. I don't think there is much going about research in our curriculum.

Placement Experience :

Since it is one of the best colleges for the course all the companies like TVS, caterpillar, etc. Our college takes up internship very seriously around the 3rd and 4th year. The pay is good when compared with other colleges.

College Events :

There are a lot of technical and non technical events. They don't have that much hype but not so bad actually. Intrams is the main event and technical events like kriya and yugam and scintia has some rings to it.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It is really expensive, very high capitation fee. When compared to other colleges it is definitely really high. That is if admission by donation amount 1.5 million one. Fee for each year is around 0.2 million inr.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Scholarships are provided by the alumni of the college to those who need and deserve it. Loan can be applied in the students name in the basis of educational loan. They provide us with the required information to apply for loan.

Campus Life :

Psg hs very good sports teams and the college supports and funds for sports events. There are about 20 cultural societies. Once a year hostel day will be conducted. There is zero tolerance policy with harassment

Alumni/Alumna :

Seniors are super friendly, there is absolutely no ragging and the alumni support the college very well. They provide scholarship to those who do well and those who really need it. Seniors interact in a daily interval.

Admission :

It is one of the top preferred college, so with my grades, donation was the only way to get admission. The course I've chosen is mechanical which is the fundamental for the whole of engineering with knowledge and skillset in this particular field we can persue anything we want as it gives us a wide variety of options.

Faculty :

The faculty is very good except for a very few who really turns a blind eye when their assistance is required the most. They take extra measures to make us feel comfortable, and encourage us to come forward and talk about any of our problems and provide assistance in any way possible.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was comprehensive and we have an option to choose free electives from other departments too. We would have 2 quizzes and one end semester exam in a semester and meanwhile assignments will be shared at regular intervals of time.

The college is good overall, but there is definitely work to be done in terms of exams, curriculum, boy-girl ratio and interactions. some of the rules which college has imposed is not common sense and that needs to be changed.
