Remarks :

IISER is located a bit from the main city of Trivandrum (50km). Reaching IISER is a bit inconvenient. But institute bus services are available. To pursue a degree in this lush green campus, one has to be really lucky. Main tourist places are also located nearby.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course offered here is revised regularly and Research-oriented. All the faculty here are well versed in their subjects, and the advantage is that they are eminent scientists by profession, hence we get extra exposure to the modern research fields.

Placement Experience :

The placements and job opportunities here are very vast, because of the interdisciplinary format of the course structure designed. And also the professors here provide internships to interested students every year, and if the candidate applies through online portal( available on Institute's website), there are high chances of getting a stipend also.

College Events :

Annual Science fest(Anvesha), Annual Cultural fest (Ishya), Sports meet, Inter IISER Sports meet: the above fests are conducted on a very grand scale. Since students from all over the world are present here, mostly all the festivals of all the religions flourish here like sunshine.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees structure here is 55000INR ( general category ) per semester and we also get 5000INR per month as a scholarship. So the fees here are not so expensive and easily bearable and all the facilities are also at the next level.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Our students mostly receive INSPIRE scholarship of 5000 INR per month for all five years, or KVPY scholarship of 5000 INR per month for three years and 7000 INR for the next two years of the course at IISER.

Campus Life :

Labs here at IISER are outstanding, they were way beyond our expectations. The labs are wholly equipped with all the modern requirements. Even sports are encouraged. Students get involved in many of the clubs available for some regular extracurricular work.

Hostel Facilities :

Even the hostels are well furnished very well and grade A level of cleanliness. We also have gym facilities, indoor sports facilities and many more. And there are a vast number of seats still available.

External Expense : Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna :

All our seniors were soo encouraging and helped us throughout our journey at IISER. Even the alumni network, constantly provide us with lots of valuable information regarding jobs and placements and also motivates us.

Admission :

Through IISER Aptitude Test conducted every year. I got in here, directly after my +2 course. There are also several other ways for joining IISER: JEE-advanced and KVPY. The easiest way is through the IISER aptitude test.

Faculty :

The faculties here are well versed and have in-depth knowledge about the subject overall, and everyone is an eminent scientist by profession. Every faculty here hold a Ph.D. degree and have their own research labs where they work in.

About My College

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as it is related to medical field and biology is the main base. Everyone who loves biology will find it interesting. The syllabus is not that tough. After completing graduation we can join any multispeciality hospital as a dietitian, as a fitness trainer in a gym or as a personal celebrity dietitian. Post graduation and phd will be cherry on cake. This profession is futuristic as it is developing and there is a high demand abroad. I think virtual learning will be the best for this kind of course and college should provide it.

I love this course because it is highly demanding. The faculty-student ratio is about 41:7. The teachers secured higher knowledge in their fields. Their teaching methods were excellent. The exams were conducted between six months gap having six semesters.

I don't know about campus placement in our college. My plan is to complete the BSc Botany course and do some environment-related work. The college offers several courses and imminent teaching. Those who learn with their heart and put the effort into their task will find a job somewhere.
