College review

Remarks :

Positive remarks: Good quality education. Good faculties. Research oriented curriculum. Efficient exam pattern and marking scheme. Good internship and placement opportunities. Negative remarks: Mediocre infrastructure. Small college campus

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course structure is good. Focus on research was good. Exams and labs were nether too hectic nor too chilled out. College management tried to maintain a balanced environment. Time table was well managed with theory classes and lab sessions to increase the efficiency of the students.

Placement Experience :

Placement and job opportunities are good as compared to many other colleges in the city. It is among the states top colleges in terms of giving placement opportunities. Almost every stream has good placement record. The congress placement numbers in the last few years have been very good.

College Events :

Technical event of each department was different. On overall college level “Technovision” was one of the good events which gave platform to students to showcase their technical skills. Cultural event called as “Pratishruti” is organised every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The college was slightly expensive in my opinion. But it is justified because it is an autonomous college with better facilities and good opportunities as compared to many other colleges. The fees constituted of Tuition fees which was major part. Then minor parts were development fees, exam fees, infrastructure, library etcetera.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Scholarship schemes by state government and the central government all were applicable to the college. College offers waiver of tuition fees to Economically Backward students on the basis of merit. The college had tie-ups with bank so that it’s easy for students to avail the loan facility in case they want it.

Campus Life :

Extracurricular activities in the college are decent. Every year branch cup is organised which constitutes of sports competition as well. As far as labs are concerned, they were well equipped and decent in quality.

Alumni/Alumna :

College seniors were good. They were of helpful nature. Many of them are still in touch. They guided us when we were new to the corporate world. They gave tips to work efficiently. There are lot of small things told by seniors which has helped in many ways in gaining new experiences.

Admission :

The college has overall good placement records. The curriculum in the college is also good and they try to match up their syllabus with NIT’s and IIT’s. The admission process in the college is Centralised admission process for 49% seats and 51% seats are reserved for linguistic minority people in Maharashtra. The admission process is very transparent and everything is according to the Merit.

Faculty :

Faculties were very good. They were hired after a rigorous process. Most of the faculties had in depth knowledge about the subject they taught. Faculties took good efforts to deliver the results. Most of the faculties were researchers and gave good food for thought to the students to encourage research oriented studies.

Talking about placements, most of the placements occurs in CSE and IT branch, but surprisingly in the Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, the Mechanical branch has the same placements comparatively just the fact is that the package is less.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Placement Experience:

Students are encouraged to take internships from the moment they are confident and can handle responsibility. They are eligible for placements after semester 4. Approximately 60+ companies visit the campus every year and they take an average of 4-5 offers. For instance, the highest package can be 40+lpa from Microsoft. 90-100% placements happen every year. My plan after getting the degree is to acquire a placement and work with the organization.
