Remarks :
As I've already mentioned this is one of the best college for the students intended to study, I like to be there as my second home. Since the day I've come here no single negative remark arose from my side as I always got the support from my friends as well as faculties.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As the college is totally based on the affiliation of MAKAUT board (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology) formerly WBUT, the curriculum is totally based on the board. Generally every semester is of 6 months and 5/6 theory paper and 1/2 practical paper consists of every semester syllabus. Within 6 months 2 internal exams happen with a gap of one month and at the end, the end sem happens and it's the step to move towards next semester. The time duration of this written exam is 3 hours. Also along with end sem the practical exams happen which was taken by external teachers by the guidance of board.
Placement Experience :
Actually most of renowned all IT based companies like Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant etc. come here and most of the IT/CSE degree holders gets job in those companies. As I'm a Mechanical student, some of the companies come here for core industries are Godrej, Usha appliance, Hyundai etc. They offer a lot of opportunities to the fresh graduated students.
College Events :
In every academic year one freshers are arranged for the newcomers or who takes fresh admissions to the college and it is known as REGATTA, and at the end one cultural fest is arranged for all the students of the college, it is known as ARCADIA. This is two of the regular events celebrated every year in the college. Every student can take part in it. They also can get special permission for rehearsal in college hours.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It's actually feasible compared to other colleges which are near the metro city Kolkata. It's located at a place called Adisaptagram in Hooghly District and it's in quite rural area. Semester fee is around 40,000/- or above which excludes hostel fees and other facilities.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I've not availed a scholarship yet but the college doesn't offer any scholarship of their own. If anyone arrange any kind of scholarship or take any student loan, college accepts the offer. And also the fees is to be deposited by cash or by bank draft only to the college office, thery don't accept cheques or have no connection with specific bank to deposit the semester fees.
Campus Life :
There are seperate common rooms for boys and girls. At the front of the college there is a pond which even enhances the beauty of the college campus. The common rooms are well equipped with carrom boards and table tennis courts. There's also a basketball court and a volleyball court. Several tournaments occurred there. But no football ground is present inside the campus. There is a field just beside the campus area where most of all extracurricular activities take place.
Hostel Facilities :
I travel form my home which is just a 30 min train ride to Adisaptagram, the nearest station to Academy of Technology. My friends stay at hostel and I've visited there already and I must say it's good.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumni network of the college is very strong. Even at the year ending fest all the alumnis try to come here rejoice about the time they've spent. They also have a Facebook group where they interact each other.
Admission :
I was a diploma student previously, after passing out in 2019, I went through JELET (Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry) exam and secured a good rank to get admission to this college. As I was a student of Mechanical in Diploma, it was my dream to secure a seat in counselling in this college. It has such a great campus and experienced faculties that I was already intended to take my admission in this college.
Faculty :
Most of all faculties are PHD in their respective subjects and some are M. Tech and all are well experienced. No faculties are there with degrees less than Masters. They all help a lot to sought out our problems. If any doubt arises with any subject, just we inform our HOD and they arrange special classes after college hours and helps to continue our study.
