The Journey of a Medico

Remarks :

Overall , I would say my College is really awesome with respect to seniors , faculty , facilities. The teachers are knowledgeable and interested , seniors are helpful and supportive and even the working staff are assistive and polite. However few developments are still needed such as the infrastructure is too old, few instruments are to be replaced which can be done by proper funding to respective department and also the library requires books to be upgraded to latest editions

Course Curriculum Overview :

The MBBS course is oriented towards wellness of society. It teaches it's students as to how to approach a disease , it's cause , it's pathogenesis, it's diagnosis, prognosis and treatment. Since each human is unique in his own way there's always room for multiple therapies for single disease. The course is practical oriented rather than mugging up for which students have to attend hospital wards daily and get to know new cases. The course also approaches towards doctor doctor and doctor patient relationship to avoid negligence and malpractices and develop a smooth relationship between them for healthy environment. The exam pattern of the university is handled by MUHS all over Maharashtra Colleges. It consists of two theory papers of each subject of 50 marks each with 10 marks McQ 4 marks short answer questions and 8 marks long answer questions. Along with it there is a practical exam of 50 marks. In between occurs term tests and prelims for revision.

After completing final year exams it's compulsory for all students to serve for the hospital for an year as internship in various departments for specific durations. The stipend in internship is 11000 rupees. After the internship students have to appear for another entrance exams called NEET PG for post graduai seat. Seats are allowed as per the score in the test and preference order put by the student.

The College organises various number of events - co curricular , recreational social awareness based and educational. Various religious festivals like shiv jayanti and Ganesh chaturthi and kojagiri to instill cultural etiquettes and carry forward the traditions. Maharashtra level quizes are organised for each subjects. Graduation and convocation ceremony for all the seniors is organised for felicitating their performance.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure for second year is as :- Tuition fees + library fees = 1,19,000 RS Others - 14,500 RS It is to be submitted in the form of demand draft The fee structure is feasible as per the facilities like hostel, library and gym are provided. For students who can't afford scholarships are organised wherein the tuition fees is exempted and also the students who took admission by reservation quota of various castes are exempted from the tuition fees

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

For students taking admission through reservation quota of various castes , the tuition fees is exempted. Apart from that EBC scholarship system is developed for the needy ones. Students whose parents have annual income less than 8 lakh rupees are eligible for this scholarship. They have to fill the EBC forms and apply following the instructions and submitting the needed documents

Campus Life :

Apart from regular lectures and practicals , the College organises sports events every year. Students from different Colleges are invited to compete in various games like football , basketball, badminton , chess , tennis and cricket. The winners are felicitated by the honourable DEAN. The College organises City cleaning programed after major festival celebrations

Alumni/Alumna :

The journey of medicos is incomplete without the senior students. They are very helpful and supportive. From how to complete journals and how to answer Viva exams to what are the important topics for theory examination , seniors play a vital role. Not only do they help in adapting to the new city and system , they also provide moral support during depression and help to tackle difficult circumstances.

Admission :

To get admission in this College you need to appear an entrance exam called NEET. All over India students aspiring to get into medical courses have to appear for this exam which is of 720 marks containing MCQS 4 marks each of physics (180 marks ) chemistry (180 marks) and biology (360 marks). After securing the cut off rank of given College a form is to be filled for preference as to which College the students want. After that a merit list is uploaded and the students have to reach the College within 7 days and submit the needed documents viz migration and birth certificate , admit card , marksheet and then they receive the admission letter.

Faculty :

The number of teachers is appropriate to handle 150 students. Each teacher is given a batch of 20-30 students whom she counsells whole year and makes sure they are clear with the concepts. Well qualified teachers are recruited for the job through the interview so their knowledge is vast enough to guide students properly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is under Competency Based Medical Education it is with competencies in each subject and it helps very well to conquer at each and every subject. The practicals are also very well taught so that you can get hands on in every type of equipment and knowledge about all the things. Medical field in itself is very hard to chase but the difficulty level is quite impresssive in our curriculum it maintains the academic level of the college and University. The timing is also well matched keeping in mind with all the holidays and preparatory time

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always was drifted towards medicine the thought of having a scalpel itself was so mesmerizing! There is one asst professor per 50 students And on the dissection table or in small groups, we have 1 teacher per 9-10 students The teachers are highly qualified some are from AFMC some from well-reputated colleges We have a lecture then practical followed by a small group discussion of that topic mostly in anatomy Exams are quite regularly held and are definitely not easy to pass! They follow the pattern of MUHS but as per info, it was more difficult than that.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty is experienced and the majority of the professors are good at teaching. The course curriculum is as what is specified by MCI. Regular classes. Disciplined study environment. They teach you what would be required for you to crack the NEET PG exam. I wish they would take up more research projects.
