Short and brief review about SPPSPTM NMIMS

Remarks :

Overall SPTM is a good college. Discipline is properly followed and the overall management of the college in all aspects is good.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course structure is set by PCI and is a vast structure including all the key subjects which are necessary for the completion of the course. These include pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, jurisprudence, etc. The curriculum is definitely groomed to provide industry-specific knowledge to the students.

Placement Experience :

Companies visiting the college for placements include Cipla, Zydus, EY, Glaxo smith cline, Abbott, Novartis, etc. There is 100% placement for all the students based on their academic performance.

College Events :

The college annually organizes several fests and competitions which help the students in showcasing their talents and getting experience by participating in extracurricular activities. These include educational competition, debates, art competition, sports competition, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure of this college is agreeable. The program fees are 205000 per year. The college accepts only demand drafts as the mode of payments. Additional fees for obtaining admission in this college are application and registration fee. The college doesn't provide transparency in fee breakdown.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Scholarships are provided based on the merit and academic performance of the students. Criteria to be eligible for them is to stand in the top 5 students in each batch.

Campus Life :

No comments on gender ratios as such. Student or dorm parties are not allowed in the hostel premises. Workshops are conducted annually to improve the skills of the students as well as their general knowledge. There is no discrimination based on gender, caste, religion, etc in the university premises.

Alumni/Alumna :

The senior students are very helpful in providing notes to their juniors and they also provide guidance so as to pursue which masters course in the future.

Admission :

I opted this course because I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare and I saw pharmacy as my best option apart from doctors. I choose this college because I liked the infrastructure, faculty and staff, the amenities and facilities provided by the college, etc. Admission is done based on merit. MHCET scores were taken in my case.

Faculty :

The number of lecturers is around 45-50 in total teaching all pharmacy as well as MBA subjects. All the faculties have a PhD in their area of research and teaching. And generally, the faculty is pretty much clear while teaching the students. Few faculties have industrial tie-ups too with well known pharmaceutical companies.

College provides with the placements . Many companies come for the placements but the average package is quite low like 2lpa and highest package of 3-3.5 lpa . Around 50 percent students are placed. The shortlisting for the placements is by the cgpa and the knowledge and on the basis of interview

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was very interested in this course. As I love being in medical field this course keeps me in touch with the same. I don't think that there is need to improve in the course and the teaching methods are the best here. The exams are kept after every 2 months which I think is fine.

Rank holders in the institute, receives a priority when it comes to internships and job opportunities. Attendance is very much needed to survive in this institute and it's very important to note down all the notes and details given by the faculty members.
