Remarks :
The college helped me grow not only professionally but also personally in various spheres of life.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is along the line with modern market and technology requirements. It has a very wide curriculum giving a chance to students to know about various fields. Along with that, it has one of the largest workshops to help learn students practically what has been taught in the class.
Placement Experience :
Placements are good with a lot of core companies, especially for mechanical engineering roles. There were a lot of big names which offered roles to students in analytics and coding.
College Events :
There were 3 big events. First is Technex which is the technical festival of college. Second is Spardha which is sports fest of IIT (BHU), Varanasi. The third is Kashiyatra, which is the cultural festival of IIT(BHU), Varanasi. There is immense participation in these fests from all over India.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee Structure is feasible. Total fees were 400000 Rs for 4 years. One had to pay Rs 50000 before the start of every semester. It includes hostel fees. There was mess fee also which was 150000 per semester. There was full transparency in the fees and no additional fees were taken.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes, the college offered a scholarship named Merit- Cum- Means scholarship. It was given on the basis of the financial status of the student and his performance in JEE advanced.
Campus Life :
Campus life overall was awesome. There were a lot of student parties, workshops, clubs and student committees. Though the gender ratio was not good. There was no discrimination anywhere on the basis of race, caste, religion, gender, ethnicity and economic status.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facilities were good. There are very large hostels and each one has the capacity to accommodate more than 500 students. Each hostel had its canteens and mess in the hostel itself. There were student committees for the hostel to put forth the views of students in front of wardens.
Alumni/Alumna :
There are clubs that organise alumni meets and there are also a lot of groups on online forums for IIT(BHU) alums.
Admission :
For admission into IIT (BHU), Varanasi I gave JEE mains and qualified for JEE advanced. After that JEE advanced took place in June. I joined classes in FITJEE for the entrance exam and took the help of various online courses. From December one should fully focus their attention on JEE advanced and boards after that once JEE mains is over one should start preparing for JEE advanced without any delay.
Faculty :
Faculty members in the mechanical department in IIT (BHU), Varanasi is one of the best in India. There are more than 30 lecturers with a very mixed age group. Many lecturers hold good industry experience and are still called upon by industries to provide solutions in management and research and development.
