Remarks :

Overall this college is good and every year. It is working hard to be a best college in West Bengal.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I like my BTech course and also my civil engineering department. The exam structure mentains very disciplinity. There was very tough guard present to notice every students. Techers help us very carefully. There are held two internal examination in a semester by our college, after internal exam final examination held by our university board. After semester result published in one or two months. Full written marks is 70 and 30 marks in internal exam, totally full marks 100.

Placement Experience :

There is hardly any scope of placement in our college as it is situated in North Bengal and also it has started just a few years before but yes our TPO cell is working hard to organize some pool campus placements in other colleges. Our college provides internship during third year of our college.

College Events :

Our college every year arranged a freshers party for newly admitted students. As well as every year our college arranged a technical fest and cultural fest. Where almost all students participated. Different guests are visited our college in events. 1. )Esparenza - annual tech fest of our college. 2. ) Croesso - annual freshers welcome party. 3. ) Socials - not started yet cause it involves passed out students. This are the technical and cultural programs celebrated in our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Semester fees for CSE/ECE department is Rs 6000, Whereas Semester fees for ME/CE/EE is Rs 3000, The college fees in our college is quite feasible as compared to other Engineering Colleges and even a bright student from a middle class family can afford to study in our college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As I know if your 12 marks above of 75% you are eligible for SVMCM scholarship depending on your financial condition. Also there are many scholarships for meritorious and poor students. Also you can get education loans from govt in low rates of interest.

Campus Life :

The course is 4 years full time bachelor degree course. It is divided into 8 semesters. after 6 months exam held of a semester. Per semester subject and syllabus change randomly. Practical exam held before semester by other external faculty members of others colleges. Campus life is very good. gender ratio is 4:1 in extracurricular :- tech fest, cultural fest, fresher party, blood donating etc. Labs:- it is well defined with high tech technology. sports:-sports event are there very frequently debates:- there is also debate competition in every weekend.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel are very good with all the necessary things. 24x7 water, electricity, free wifi, and medical accommodation. Hostel environment is too good with fresh pollution free air. Hostel building with bathrooms and toilet are clean regularly. Mess foods are good with hygienic and fresh vegetables and fish, meat. Foods are available only for two times lunch and dinner.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network in our college are quite helpful and they are always ready to help us whether we are in need. Also leaving a few seniors majority of them are quite helpful and they acts as siblings and they guide you and help you out from any problems and doubts.

Admission :

Through the Wbjee exam I was selected in the college (general ranking list 19000 something, in SC ranking list it was nearly 900). It was my 1st counciling and at 1st time I'm selected. In this college there was varification process of many documents which is needed to got addmission in this college.

Faculty :

This is a new college. Currently running 4th year of its glorious lifespan. This is very clean, airy college with almost new and working instruments including the labs. There're underdevelopment labs in the civil department but still it's well enough. It's a lovely place beside the ever-flowing torsa river. The faculties are almost good. But I would be happy if this was not affiliated under MAKAUT. If you want to complete B. Tech, you can come and join here with the CGEC family.

Review of IEM Kolkata, a strict Engineering College.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for the placements after the sixth semester. The companies that generally visit us for placements are TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, Oracle, IBM and some other ones. The highest package offered through last years is 22 Lacs Per Annum and on average it is 4-5 LPA. 90% students on average get placed Every year. My plans after getting the Degree is to pursue Freelancing Full Time and Become a Web Designer.

Good Placements

Placement Experience:

We become eligible from the later part of the third year to sit for the placements as the companies arrive then. Mainly placements are dependent on service-based companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro e.t.c. who mass recruits a whole lot of students with standard 3.5 to 4 LPA packages. Product-based companies like Oracle, Amazon, and trilogy too visited the campus. Oracle recruited a few of the candidates, Amazon too but nobody could clear the trilogy's OA rounds. Oracle offered a package of 15lpa and Amazon around 22 LPA. But a lot of students applied off campus and the highest placement off campus was 72 LPA in Google. The placement percentage is nearly 100% which is mainly due to the fact of service-based companies. I too am interested in IT jobs so am preparing for the same.

Seeing stcet again through my eyes

Placement Experience:

Students from the 4th-year 7th semester onwards become eligible for all sorts of campus recruitments. Cognizant technology solutions are the principal recruiter. Other companies which used to come during this time include Infosys, Odesha technologies, itc infotech, and others. All these companies generally take many students from our campus. During our time around 88% of students got selected from our batch. Out of which many students got double job offers from cognizant and Infosys. Some got job offers in sonodyne, Vodafone, and other companies. The highest package was offered by cognizant which was about 6 lakhs per annum. An average package of 3.5 lakhs per annum was offered by Infosys followed by itc infotech which offered roughly 4 lakhs per annum. After getting the degree I will pursue Ms maybe or maybe I can opt for MBA too. Also, I can sit for ies exam. Let's see what happens.
