A journey worth sharing

Remarks :

I will give 8. 5 out of 10 to my University. The university's environment is very nice and very socialize. The campus is very beautiful and very nature friendly. The University has several departments in it which has one head of it. The result of our university is also very goof over the year.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Our course consist of 8 semesters, each semester they use to conduct one 'mid term' in the middile of the semester, viva and 'end term' in the end of the semester. as a whole you can learn a lot of things in Agriculture field and you can do further research program in a specific subject after post graduation.

Placement Experience :

There are a lots of job opportunities in the Agriculture sector. One can go for any of the prospects in the job. As of i know. most of our seniors are doing Extension Officer job in Agriculture sector, who help the farmers to get the maximum benefit by enhancing there production with a minimum in return. And this course also offer many jobs in private institutions as a feild supervisor, NGO's manager etc. one can also go for the teaching services being as a professor or an expert lab assistant.

There is a big Cultural event which had been occuring in our University since 2015. And it is called 'Aventine' where lots of events use to occur and a celebrity guest is invited to entertain the students and faculty as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is very feasible for a middle class family. If the applicant is in the 'high fees' category. they need to pay more. But if you took admission through merit then you need to pay 7200 per semester being as a hosteller.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The university use to provide a merit scholarship to the students of the university. Students can also apply for other states scholarships under the proper information from the University. The academic cell of our university will make it available for the student.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel is rated excellent. all types of facilities are available for a student. infrastructure is also very good. can occupy a lots of students in it. The rooms are generally shared among two students.

Alumni/Alumna :

I have a lots of senior in touch with currently some of them are doing jobs in different sectors. They are very helpful to their juniors they use to provide information on the current field of interest.

Admission :

As my Uncle is an Agriculture field officer. He told me about this course. This university where i am pursuing my degree needs good marks(pcb marks in 12th class) for getting admission, so i got selected in the counseling sessions.

Faculty :

The faculty is very highly learned and are student friendly. They can clear your any doubt in this sector. The faculty members have their one specific subject where they are specified. We have to visit there chamber for signing up the regular practicals.

Placement Experience:

Yes our students get placements directly from our campus. Companies like Amul, Federal Bank, Union bank of India, has come to our campus for direct placement. As per NIRF 2024, 87 students got placed from UG courses and 97 from PG courses. Starting salary from 66,000 to 70,000 in various jobs. My plan is to study masters and for that we have to prepare for JRF.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it was a unique course. I got to learn something different. Each batch has a few students which helps each and every student to connect with the teachers and learn better. It was difficult at first for many of us to pass cause this entire term exam thing was new to us. We had to study everything in very less time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Currently, the College of Horticulture is functioning within the University campus. But most likely to shift to Nalbari which is 50km away from Guwahati. There are 30 seats in each batch. The Teachers are good and helpful. Semester-wise exams are conducted and are average in terms of difficulty. Most students pass with good marks.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester onwards students are eligible for placement in different agricultural companies including the banking sector also. Different banks like PNB, ICICI, SBI, HDFC, etc offers frequent placement options. The average package is around 3.5 lakhs per annum after graduation. But you can opt for a Master's degree for better placement options.
