My Journey with RCBS

Course Curriculum Overview :

Our syllabus is updated as per the norms prescribed by the university. We gained a lot from the curriculum, especially the presentation classes and case study evaluation is most productive from here. Over the course of two years, we studied a variety of subjects like statistics, financial management, behavioral sciences, etc. After the second semester, we all went for a mandatory internship of two months. During our placement process and interview rounds, we were also asked questions from this internship.

Placement Experience :

The placement record of our college is pretty great. Almost 70% of our senior batch have been placed, while many of our seniors went for their family business. I am still in my final semester and I have secured a job offer through campus placements. Our placement cell even helped us during the internship process. Average packages offered to our batch are around 3 LPA, even one student secured a package of around INR 9 LPA. Some of the frequent recruiters include Axis Bank, Berger Paints, blue dart, Blue Star, Coca-Cola, Colgate, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

My MBA course fee was pretty nominal. I paid around INR 96k per semester, and in total, I paid 1.84 lacs for the two-year program. My registration fee, tuition fee, refundable security charges, examination fee, etc. was included in my fee and there were no hidden charges. This fee structure was way below par in comparison to other B-Schools and I feel lucky, I was able to qualify for this college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I secured the first rank in the first semester in our batch, thus I was able to secure a merit-cum-means scholarship offered by the college. There are other scholarships offered by the institute and scholarships offered by the state government. Students from a backward category can also avail a concession in fee.

Campus Life :

Campus life is awesome, to begin with. Our curriculum is pretty diverse and included a perfect blend of academic learning and extra-curricular activities. Infrastructure is also pretty advanced and nicely furnished. Our campus had computer labs with at least fully equipped tools. The library is stacked with books and journals from different disciplines like analytics, finance, marketing, human resource, and other management books. Sports facilities are generally okay since we are more inclined towards our academics. Overall the social life is good, depending upon how well you manage it.

Admission :

A detailed overview of the Admission process is as follows: You have to appear for the entrance test approved by AICTE and apply for the counseling process of the college. A merit list will be released by the university, on the basis of entrance exam scores and overall academic record of the student. Then the shortlisted students will be called for an interview and group discussion round. Afterward, the students will have to undergo the document verification process if they satisfied all these above-mentioned criteria. On the successful completion of these parameters, I was granted admission and asked to pay the fee.

Faculty :

One of the main highlights of our course was our faculty members, who were dedicated to making something out of us and, more or less, they succeeded. Most of the students from our batch have already secured a job, while many of them even have multiple job offers. The teaching methodology was modern and advanced and included the usage of ppt to teach a lecture, while the guest lectures were equally crucial, as well.

Admission:

My admission was done on the basis of entrance mode. I took the CAT exam and scored 76%. So I was eligible for the admission. Oh! I almost forgot I filled out the application form online from the official website of the Calicut University and then my application was shortlisted.

The placement cell from my college was very active and provided a lot of placement opportunities by inviting familiar companies like HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, etc. Our college has an average percentage of 30% and above rate in placement.
