Remarks :

One of the best Maritime University in our country. Best known university for placements. It has a ship in campus which gives you the actual view for the ships to provide training for the cadets.

Course Curriculum Overview :

BE Marine Engineering, 4 year Course. Deals with Electrical Mechanical and Architectural aspects in Ships. 8 semesters with various subject With different grade points. Exam Structure is like Internal 40 marks ( 5- attendance 5- Assignments 10 - CAT ( Continuous Assessment Test), 15- Modal exam ), 60 marks External exam,Total 100. Laboratory 100 marks 40 for record and observation and viva 60 - External Practicals.

Placement Experience :

Top Shipping companies Recruit Cadets from our college from the first year itself. I got placed in Maersk in my first year, cadet training Programmes are conducted by this company during the final year. They also have tie ups With other top companies like Goodwoods Shell Chevron Fleet management and Seateam Management.

College Events :

Cultural Activities are not that great but some festivals like pongal Onam Diwali are celebrated. Deparmental Fests are conducted by all dept. Naval Architecture Marine Engineering Mech, Electrical and Petroleum engineering.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees alotted by the directrate of Shipping is quite expensive. An approximate of 16 lakhs is collected by the college for 4 years. 3 Installments for each year, 3.5 l per year. Exam Fee 5000, Food and Accommodation is included in the fee

Campus Life :

AMET promotes many sports like carrom, chess, snookers and table tennis for indoor, badminton, basketball, handball, kabadi, cricket and so on as outdoor games. Cadets are allowed to take their practices daily for their games. Mr Amet Competition is conducted every year le Leburu Subash 2019 Winner 2 gyms are provided for maintaining fitness

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel is compulsory for DG courses 4 people in a room 3 hostels in our campus Ganga hostel Yamuna hostel and Kaveri Hostel One hostel is outside the Campus- Horizon Hostel for GME cadets Common Restrooms and Washrooms Bunker beds and Bunker fans provided

External Expense : Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Faculty :

We have many Chief Engineers With experience of 15 to 20 years of sailing and also teaching experience. Very Friendly and cooperative. Provide info on the latest tech. Electrical Faculty not that great.
