Course Curriculum Overview :

Since my college was affiliated to the University the overall syllabus was given by the university.So the course curriculum which my college gave just followed the university and there was no practical experiments or no case studies to explore and understand the theory part of the course. In my opinion there should be more interesting things other than the syllabus but related to the course to enrich the knowledge base.

Placement Experience :

This college has a parent college and placements will be held together for both the colleges and the preferences will be given for the parent college students. There are opportunities but the training and the preparation to be given by the placement cell is not good.

College Events :

Celebrations are minimal and usually will be held in a small auditorium which will not be enough to accommodate all the students. There will not be dancing or singing or any other form arts which would be happening.Mostly speech competitions or quiz or something like that would be happening.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure is expensive for the facilities they provide.I paid 28000 per year for the room rent alone and mess bill was 33000 per year.Apart from that college tuition fee was 45000 per year and 25000( only if you are a first graduate in your family).Books and notebooks are extra which would come up to another 5000.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

They did not offer any scholarship to me but maximum 3 - 4 students from each batch who were economically backward were given scholarship by the management.Apart from that there many scholarships which the TN government offers for the students according to their community and marks.I got a scholarship of 7500 every year from the government.

Exam Structure :

It followed the University pattern. Three internal exams each out of 50 marks will held each semester and average of three exams will be converted out of 20.In the final semester exam the exam would be written out of 100 marks and is converted out of 80 marks and 20 marks internal will be added.

Admission :

This college is affiliated to Anna university. So the Anna university issued the application (for my batch) but now it is available online. I filled the form which would be asking for personal details like name ,community, details about family, annual income of the family , education details , address for communication etc.Then I submitted the application through post to the University. They selected the application after they had verified the details.

Average college but a good place to study on your own

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Students who pursuing five and sixth semesters onwards are eligible to attend the placements and internship. Mostly the IT companies are visited frequently and core companies are low. The Highest package is 9LPA. The percentage of college placement is 78 percent. I planned to make higher studies after my degree.

Reality of Veltech

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Best place ever visited. My Sweet College.

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
