Remarks :

Mobile phone is strictly banned in college, this is the only bad thing. This hinders the connectivity. According to me mobile phones should be allowed outside of class roomswith a limited usage. Also the management must try hard to focus on placements.

Entrance Preview :

I took Karnataka CET,I got 18600 rank in entrance exam, civil engineering honestly speaking was of my fathers choice but I also I thought that it has an edge over other course because of lot of construction work going on in my city. A civil engineer has a lot of scope as there is a requirement of it in buildings, roads, railways, airports, harbours, dams, bridges, water supply, muncipalty and after a very short period in the field, one can start their own buisness too.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Civil engineering is one of the very first branches started in Pda college way back in 1958,the department has been evolved through a process to be among the very best in Karnataka.

Internships Opportunities :

Pda college doesn't have any internship in their curriculum during BE course. But the management is considering to include internship in academics from 2015-16.

Placement Experience :

Sad to inform that none of the civil engineering students were placed in 2014 because no civil engineering companies visited the campus. The department is good to gain knowledge and not good among placing students. Two years before did came to our college and hired two students with package of 4LPA.

College Events :

There is one annual fest called Nirvana, which goes on for 4 days which includes a lot of cultural and technical events. The last day of the fest is the best one as on this day the energy is high. Ramp walk,Dj night concludes the fest. However fresher party and send off happens every year within the respective departments.

Fees and Financial Aid :

I availed scholarship during all the 4 years of my college. The scholarship section in college is very warmth and helps the student in choosing a appropriate scholarship scheme. Loans are also availed by students but college plays no role in it.

Campus Life :

Gender ratio according to me was 6:4 (F/M). There were many students from North east and different parts of the state,so of course there is vast diversity in PDA. Tolerance level of students and teacher is of highest level as the founder of the college thinks it is a temple of learning and religion race ethnicity is of least importance. The uniform dress code of the college gives the economic status of student a back seat.

Hostel Facilities :

I was a day scholar at the college. But my friends use to say that the Hostel facility is not so good. But a number PG are available around the college at a reasonable rates and good facilities. One can get standard quality rooms at 6k per month with AC a

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumini meet happens every year,it is one form of get together, the alumni network ofPda is quite strong. The alumni section manages to have a strong link with passed out students.

Faculty :

I remember during my second year in engineering 70 percentage of our teaching staff were doctorate (PhD).

Placement Experience:

Last year due to recession the placements were low comparatively. From semester 7 onwards we are eligible for campus placements. I do not exactly have the correct statistics, but all the students who tried outside got the jobs easily. Highest package 32 lacks and least goes upto 3 lacks per annum. Last yearpercentage of students placed is 66 and before that it was more than 90 My plan is to get a good job, after the degree and if I cannot get a good job then I will go for higher studies abroad.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements by the start of the 7th semester, and the internships by the 5th semester. Since Mangalore has many MNCs, most of the campus drives start with those companies. We have an average package of 18LPA and it varies according to each branch of engineering. Mostly all the computer science-related branches have 23LPA as their average and the core branches have 14LPA. Almost 95 per cent of the students get placed. The highest package has even crossed 50LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As the computer science was booming and also beeing an aspiring student towards that field I had decided to do CSE. The curriculum is was less practical towards the real world applications. They should have include industry professionals to teach they would have better knowledge and experience. Every one we used to have exam like mid term , FA, and end terms. Difficulty depends upon prepration level done by student.

Placement Experience:

They are eligible for placements after 4th semester and the placements are average, a lot of companies have visited I can't say them all ex like Infosys, TCS , and a lot of American and Taiwanese companies, the highest place ment in this campus was around 28lpa and average is around 1L and the percentage of students getting placements are below average like every other college cause this mostly depends on you and not the college its all based on your skill set. My plans are to get a job with a good lpa and I'm confident about that because I have a good skillset which would benefit the companies.

Placement Experience:

If talking about the placement placements are good companies like Wipro or Amazon and many other companies will visit the campus but the ratio of selection is less. So little bit hard work is required or else around 60 to 70%. Students are placed from my college in every year.
