Current student reviewing my instituition

Remarks :

Most of the things I can say are positive. But some negative points are there aren't well opportunities in the core engineering field in India. So those who are passionate about core engineering and not into Computer science stuff have to overcome certain hardships. But this is one of the best one can get in India so i will definitely recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Course Curriculum is quite diverse, with courses ranging from fundamental Electronics and Physics to Advanced VLSI and Microwave and Electromagnetic engineering. One can also parallely do a minor degree in Computer science which I'm doing to gain more diverse experience. There are 4 yr and 5yr courses with 2 semester in each year and multiple quizzes and class tests and lab tests throughout the semester.

Placement Experience :

We have one of the best opportunities in India in terms of Placement and Internship. We have 150+ companies visiting campus during Internship and 300+ companies during placement. Most of these include Tech Giants like Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Adobe, Amazon, etc. I have an internship offer from Adobe India and they offer 1 lac monthly stipend along with reimbursement of travel and 14 days free accommodation in 5star hotel. International companies like Amazon Robotics pay as huge as 8000$ monthly stipend as well. Also Microsoft Redmond, WA pay similarly.

College Events :

We proudly boast about having the biggest cultural fest in Asia - SpringFest. It spans for around 3 days and many students from all universities participate and we jave quality guests like popular Bollywood singers and comedians to perform at the Night shows. We also have a big technical fest - Kshitij, which is of the same scale. Otherwise every Indian tradition and festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is little higher than other Government colleges due to the advanced facilities that are offered to us. The fee per semester is around ? 1 lac which is a bit expensive for a middle-class household but manageable since our college provide multiple scholarship to students who don't have sufficient financial support and are of proven merit.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

We have numerous scholarships as mentioned earlier. Some which I can recall are MCM Scholarship which pays ? 70k annually to students who maintain a certain GPA and are not financially well-off. Then there is Earn-Learn-Return which offers ? 1lac annually to toppers of JEE Advanced. There is also another scholarship which is offered to toppers of every department. Moreover the SBI Bank Kharagpur branch offer educational loan at no interest or reduced rate.

Campus Life :

There are lots of sports options here including coaches for Cricket, Football, Hockey, TT , Badminton, Swimming , Water polo, etc. Labs are of very good quality and well-maintained compared to other Colleges in India other than IITs. Although certain equipments are bit older now but still work fine.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel rooms have options of single, and triple sharing. The rooms are quite spacious and workers come weekly to clean it up. The food served is not so good and that is the only disadvantage. Otherwise there are playgrounds and other accessories as well to keep everyone cheerful during the hostel Life.

Alumni/Alumna :

This is the most useful part of any IITian. Seniors and Alumnus are doing very well in life with all working with Tech Giants in the Silicon Valley and in Bangalore. Also many have gone to pursue further studies at Stanford, CMU, etc These people guide the upcoming batches and also help with referrals to help students get interviews with good comapnies.

Admission :

I took both the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains and qualified it to appear for the next stage which is JEE Advanced. 1.4 lacs students attempt this test and only top 6000-7000 students are selected to gain admission into the prestigious IITs in India. I qualified this examination and hence was eligible to seek admission into one of this prestigious instituition.

Faculty :

The faculties are quite experienced people having great expertise in their field. One disadvantage is lack of international faculties which I hope will be taken care of soon. We have many departments and all have senior + junior faculties and some of them also serve as personal advisors.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.
