Remarks :
Nothing much bad to write here. IIT experience is unique in itself. To engage with the brightest students in the country is itself an immense opportunity to learn. Glad to have studied for major part of my learning days here.
Entrance Preview :
IIT JEE. Kharagpur is top ranked college. Hence choose that. The admission process had a screening exam and a main exam which is descriptive.
Course Curriculum Overview :
It was a semester based course. I did the majors in Civil Engineering. I had electives from Pavement Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Transportation Engineering, etc in my 3rd year. In the last semester, there was a full time project that we need to complete and followed by viva voce.
Internships Opportunities :
My college internship was a student exchange program in University of Southern California where I was one among 15 students selected. It was a life turning opportunity for me to work with a Senior Professor of USC and then get the work presented in a conference. My stipend was 1500 USD per month.
Placement Experience :
Placements are at best at IIT Kharagpur. All renowned companies and startups visit the campus. They have preplacement talks and then schedule written tests, group discussions and then interview rounds. Some of the companies that visited during our time were ITC, P&G, HUL, Capital one, Tata Steel, Mu Sigma, ZS Associates, Schlumberger, I2 Solutions, Novartis, JLL, Adventity. Salary range was 5 to 15 Lacs pa. I got placed with Tata Steel.

Cultural fest is Spring fest which is held in January every year. Technical fest is Kshitij which is held in February every year. Both the fests are very famous and most popular all over the world and we have students teamed up from colleges all over the world participating.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure is very feasible. During our time, it was around 28000 per semester. Added to that there were various scholarships based on merit and parents income.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes merit cum means scholarshipMCM scholarship. This scholarship is given to students who have a GPA of 7.5 and above and parental income is less than 4.5 lakhs per annum. Many students availed this scholarship.
Campus Life :
Campus life is the best. There were lots of campus activities, annual sports days, cultural fests. Gender ratio was good. 2 boys for a girl. There were lots of societies in the campus. There is a campus gymkhana which had all the latest facilities.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels very good. Individual room for each student. Every hostel had a dining hall, recreation hall, Tv room, all kinds of sporting facilities, housekeeping facility, guest rooms, etc.
Alumni/Alumna :
Very good alumni network. Yeah we had lots of alumni come over and speak or interact with us. There is an initial orientation period with seniors during the 2nd year when we interact and get to know our seniors in a healthy way. No ragging is tolerated on the campus or in hostels.
Exam Structure :
Exams and labs were very hectic and they were strictly scheduled. There were two exams per semester. Mid semester and final semester. Each semester had one final lab exam. There were surprise tests too and there were some open textbook exams too.
Faculty :
Faculty was extremely qualified. Everyone was a Ph.D from renowned universities all over the world. Faculties of CSC and EC are the best. They nurture experimental learning rather than textbook learning.
