School is good for doing Diploma

Course Curriculum Overview :

The syllabus is carefully curated by the media professionals. My specialisation was Entertainment & Lifestyle, which aims at providing students with the best opportunity to learn about topics like fashion, art & culture, heritage, food, movies, books, technology, etc. and understand the best way to present what the viewer wants to see.

Placement Experience :

Placement process is pretty much awesome in our college. Some of the leading brands like Mintbird, Reuters, Hindustan Times, Bloomberg are some of the names that frequently visit our campus for placement purposes.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure for my Post Graduate Diploma was somewhere around INR 2,71,000. Though the fee structure is a bit too much for a one year program, but in the end it was worth it.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Scholarship options are available for the students who can’t afford the full fee. They can get a fee concession but that’s not guaranteed.

Campus Life :

The campus life is pretty great and the exposure we got was also pretty decent. The college has a pretty decent infrastructure and they are loaded with all the latest equipment. I made a lot of friends while I was there and availed the networking opportunity which was presented to me. I significantly extended my connections, which inturn is helping me now.

Admission :

Admission is done on the basis of All India Entrance Examination (AIEE) followed by personal interview. The admission process was pretty smooth and you can even choose your desired center for the entrance exam.

Faculty :

Faculty is very much talented and belongs to the top media brands. They have an ample amount of the industry exposure, which simultaneously add up to our industry exposure.

Admission:

The admission is on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the college itself. The students need to clear the entrance exam in order to secure admission to the college. I joined the institute because of its reputation, but at least this branch of the Institutes is not at par with the Delhi branch.

Placement Experience:

The placement record is very good in our college. Leading news channels and National television networks offer placements to the students of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. Average salary packages vary from 2 LPA to 5 LPA.

Admission:

Admissions are on the basis of an entrance test. The students who clear the exam, have to appear for the interview process. The interview process was pretty lengthy and tedious. The panel was pretty experienced and they were really in a mood of scrutiny.

Placement Experience:

Placements are pretty good here. Most of the students are employed by the TIMES group only while others sit for the on campus recruitment process where other media houses visit to absorb the best of the talents for the job profiles like TV presenter, video editor, content manager, etc.

Remarks:

My days at IIMC were one of the best days of my life and it taught me a great deal about the profession and even life in general. It also taught me a lot of about myself and greatly aided my self realization. I have met some of the most wonderful people here and made friends for life. I hope IIMC overcomes the issues that have been plaguing it and shines again soon.
