What was your experience at the Faculty of Law DU? Is it worth it to study law there?
One of my friends studied at the Faculty of Law, DU. She believes that getting admission there is one of the best things that happened to her as it has guided her career path in a lot of ways. Thus, it is worth studying there. Here is what she shares about her experience as a student:

It is located in the center of North Campus, just a few blocks from every illustrious DU college. The canteen, gym, library, and all other services are open, and food is subsidized.

The most crucial factor is your peers. At the law school, you'll discover a lovely and hard-working crowd where everyone is eager to assist you if you are struggling in any way, even during the semester exams.

The tea shop and chatting on any subject under the sun are a terrific way to spend an evening at the Wisdom Tree, which is always proudly standing in the courtyard of the old faculty area. The teachers and guides are decent. The syllabus and course materials are excellent, and they even offer free high-quality materials.

Marking is a bit difficult. The question paper standard is on par with that of the UPSC and occasionally even higher than that of the judicial services. So, in order to get into the First Division, one must work hard. It is impossible to stand apart.
The faculty is among the most qualified and experienced in the country. One of the teachers who taught IPC there recently rose to ninth place in the Bihar Judicial Services. You can imagine the difficulty and the level.
The college has produced some of the country's best judges, lawyers, and bureaucrats.
Is NMIMS good for the law?
If you're considering attending this college, there are a few things you should know. Here's what you can expect:
- College is both stressful and demanding, but also fun. You'll need to balance your time wisely to keep up with the workload and still enjoy your college experience.
- Attendance is mandatory, with an 80% attendance policy for each subject. This means you'll need to be in class most of the time, which can be tiring.
- Each semester, you'll have to complete a lot of projects. This will keep you busy and require good time management skills.
- There are also many curricular and co-curricular activities that you'll want to be a part of. While this can be fun, it can also add to your workload.
- Academically, the college is fairly well. Some subjects have excellent professors, while others have decent ones.
- One disadvantage of the college is the lack of a proper campus. Additionally, the college timings are extremely demanding and tiring. However, being in Mumbai has its perks.
- If you do decide to attend this college, you should know that you'll need to prove yourself at every step of law school. It's up to you to work hard and make the most of your college experience.
Is NMIMS good for law?
Studying Law at NMIMS is a really good option. It is a very stressful and demanding course which requires a lot of attention and dedication. Here you have to maintain a 80% attendance to be able to sit for the examinations.
The subject demands lots of projects every semester. You will also have to keep yourself engaged in extracurricular activities, as it will create a good impression in your resume.
Their faculty is also very well experienced with members holding PhD degrees. They are extremely cooperative and helpful. Except for the infrastructure, everything about the college is really top notch. Mumbai, as a city also has its own perks.
Is studying law at NLSIU a good option? Many of my friends dropped out of there saying it was very hectic and boring with no extracurricular.
It can be said that NLSIU is the best institute for law. Here are some reasons as to why.
- The library at NLSIU is one of the biggest in the country.
- As far as extracurriculars are concerned, every trimester has something to offer.
- In the first semester, there's Spiritus which is the biggest sports fest among all the law schools with participation from more than 20–30 colleges.
- In the second trimester, there are Strawberry fields which is one of the biggest music festivals in the country with the participation of more than 60 bands from all over the country.
- Lastly, in every trimester there's also some sporting event within the campus like gully cricket league, football league, and basketball league, and so on.
- If you include debate moots, etc. it has so much to offer.
- In the third semester, a whole week is devoted to extracurriculars from dance to music to dress-up competitions, etc.
Studying at NLSIU is hectic but never boring and the statement about no extracurricular activities is false. There are so many extracurricular activities that you might sometimes get confused about which to take part in.
How is law at Christ University?
Christ University is a good option for pursuing Law degrees. It has a dedicated law faculty. The student crowd is great. You will get to meet many talented students.
Every Friday, there are extra-curricular activities like group discussion, debate, and extempore. Intra moot courts are organized frequently. Christ also organizes National Moot Court every year. Almost all the top Law schools participate in it.
Various law firms, corporate houses, NGOs, LPOs recruit from the university. Justice & Care Bangalore, Adlaw Partners, GMR Infrastructure Ltd. are some of the major recruiters from Christ University Law placements over the last few years.
Is Presidency University, Bangalore good for law?
Presidency University ranks 2nd in Karnataka when it comes to its Law School as announced by GHRDC ranking in 2019. The institute itself was founded in 2013 and is approved by the AICTE and UGC.

- Internships are available with government agencies, law firms as well as non-government organizations.

It is ranked as the most promising university for law amongst the private universities in the southern zone. It provides ample opportunities and facilities for students to learn from the best faculty. It is up to the individual to decide and make a well informed choice after analysing all factors.
How is Aligarh Muslim University for law?
Aligarh Muslim University is one of the most reputed universities in the nation. Its overall NIRF ranking is 19 while the law college ranks 11th. The college has a strong alumni network and innumerable legal icons are a product of this college who have rendered services for the highest authorities in the nation.

The law college has a traditional approach and one might argue that the students are not provided with modern day learning methods and enough exposure as few of the other private institutes or the NLUs. Is Manipal University Jaipur good for law?
Yes, Manipal University, Jaipur is a good option for pursuing a Law degree. The university has a dedicated faculty pool. The student crowd is decent, you will get to meet many talented individuals.
Extra-curricular activities like debate, extempore, and group discussions are organized every Friday. The university conducts regular Intra moot courts. It also organizes National Moot Court competitions every year. Every top law schools participate in it.
Manipal Jaipur has different cells like Human Rights cell, International relations cell. These cells work together and create awareness among people by organizing conferences, workshops, and surveys.
How is ICFAI university, Dehradun for law?
ICFAI University Dehradun is a good option for those who want to pursue law. Here are some key points to help you understand why:
- Faculty: Many of the faculties are supportive and have a great teaching style that helps students to learn better.
- Infrastructure: The campus is moderate in size, but it has a beautiful view of snow-capped mountains, making it a perfect place for students who love nature.
- Placements: The placements depend on the student's performance. Several firms and companies visit the campus regularly for placement, and students can expect to earn around 20-30k per month as below-average students. However, if you perform well, the placement package may go up to 50k or more.
- College life: ICFAI University Dehradun has exciting campus life, and if you want to experience college life like in a movie, then this is the place to be. However, you may have to face ragging from seniors initially. The campus is located near the Queen of Mountains, Mussoorie, which is just 40 km away.

What is the criterion to take admission in IIT Kharagpur for pursuing law?
The IIT Law School or Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law,IIT-Kharagpur offers two degrees: LLB with Honors in IP Law and LLM
Although the criteria are similar for both these degrees, the qualifications required are way different. For admission to LLB. For Admission to LLB courses, you need to have a B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc/MBA with a science/engineering background.
Admission process
- You can also apply in the final year given that you have the required degree by the time of admission.
- Once you are shortlisted, you have to appear for the Written Test and Personal Interview
- Based on the combined scores, merit is prepared
- Similar criteria are applied for the other degree also.
Therefore, you have to clear both the written test as well as interview for admission to IIT Law School.
