There are very few core companies visiting the campus placement for Biochemical Engineering students for IIT BHU. Mostly non-core companies come for the placement drive. In the recent placement drive, the major recruiters for Biochemical Engineering were Rilance, Ola, EXL, etc. Most students were recruited in non-engineering profiles. The average CTC offered was 12 LPA.

Placements for biochemical engineering at IIT BHU are not so good. The reason being that in India there are very few core companies and core jobs available for biochemical engineering students. Students generally go for higher studies in this field and after completing their higher studies, they are offered jobs at various Research and development units in the core biochemical companies. Also, many students in biochemical engineering take jobs in non- core sectors like software, finance, consulting, and analytics. The pay scale for these jobs is relatively high than the core jobs being offered. Companies like Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Citi Bangalore, Jio, Quantiphi, TCS, etc have recruited biochemical engineering students and the packages offered by them ranged between 8-14 Lacs per annum.
