Studied at National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2020)

One of my friends is a former student of NITIE. He passed NITIE in 2020. I have gathered some details from him, about the overall college fee. Here are the details of the cost at NITIE:

  • College fees are different for GATE candidates (12.53 Lakhs) and CAT candidates (14.63 Lakhs)
  • Food at mess will be around Rs.4,000 which will be 80,000 for 20 months (4 months of internships, holidays, etc.)
  • Miscellaneous expenses include eating out, parties, tickets to home, trips, shopping, etc. which depends on your lifestyle.
  • If you are admitted through GATE, then you will be eligible to get a stipend of Rs 12,400 per month. For 20 months, your stipend will be a total of 2.5 Lakhs.
  • Also, you may end up getting an internship stipend as high as 3 Lakhs.

Considering the average stipend of 1.5 Lakhs, the effective cost of study will be: 5.4 Lakh for GATE candidates and 8.9 Lakh for CAT candidates. The average placement package students get is around 18 LPA at the time of final placement. NITIE is known for giving the second-best ROI in the country after FMS.
