Both N.L. Dalmia and PUMBA are good options to pursue your MBA. Both offer more or less the same opportunities and exposure to their students. Both have a crowd of talented students which maintains a healthy competitive spirit.

The main point of difference between them is that of location. One is located in Mumbai while the other is located in Pune.

In terms of placement, PUMBA gives a good number of opportunities on campus. PUMBA does not offer 100% placements. However, you will get a couple more interviews if you do not clear the first interview.

Here are the overall 2022 placement highlights for PUMBA and N.L. Dalmia:

PUMBA

N.L. Dalmia

Highest Package

INR 18 LPA

INR 15.3 LPA

N.L. Dalmia is popular for its MBA in Finance. However, not everyone can pursue Finance as there is a selection criterion for pursuing the same.

Both PUMBA and N.L. Dalmia, are good institutions to pursue your MBA. You can choose between the two institutions based on this information.

From your question, it seems as though you are trying to figure out two things, i.e.

  1. Whether to go for an MBA degree?
  2. If MBA, then what among NL Dalmia or PUMBA?

I would be answering both of your questions individually. As far as your first question is concerned, try and ask yourself why do you want to go for an MBA:

  • Are you genuinely interested in pursuing an MBA degree or are you taking inspiration from your friends?
  • Are you pursuing an MBA degree because your friends and relatives have compelled you?
  • Do you not have anything better to do?

If you think you can do justice to another 2 years of life, then go for it.

Assuming you have understood why you are going for an MBA degree, let me address your second question.

You should do some prior research by checking and comparing how the placement statistics of both the colleges look like. If you want to go for MBA Finance, I've heard good things about Dalmia from my friends.

My brother attended PUMBA and based on his experience, I will say it is a great management school. Here are some points about PUMBA.

  • Internship: Here you would have 2 internship opportunities for 5 months, unlike any other college. You can choose incubation projects too.
  • Fees: The affordable fee is one of the things that sets this B-School apart from others. For the General category, it is almost Rs. 65,000 for an entire year.
  • Exposure: For any extra or co-curricular activities, you will get a whole lot of exposure. Plus, it would be even better if you get to work for a particular cell- alumni, cultural or placement, etc.
  • Faculty: The faculty base is great.
  • Placement: There exist no 100% placement records, frankly. If you are capable, you would get a good package. A bonus would be a good academic background. Here are the recent placement highlights.

Average CTC

6.43 LPA

Highest CTC

16 LPA

No of recruiters

100+

Major recruiters

HDFC Bank, Infosys, Tata Capital, etc.

  • Timing: The schedule is not tight, therefore, you can consider picking up a hobby and perfecting it.

Honestly, there isn't anything bad that I can think of for PUMBA. You can definitely give this institute a shot.
