I don't think that the improved rankings of IIT Indore have anything to do with the imperfections in the ranking bodies, rather these ranking bodies have been able to successfully portray the academic progress made by IIT Indore in the past few years.

  • No doubt, IIT Indore has a lesser number of professors as compared to the older IITs but the average number of citations is great. This is a major criterion considered by ranking bodies.
  • IIT Indore has a lesser number of disciplines but the average number of papers per discipline makes IIT Indore take the lead.
  • Considering IIT Indores published papers, the research progress is another reason why it scored better than IIT Bombay.

Owing to the above achievements, IIT Indore has gained global recognition and some people who are jealous of its growth have been defaming the ranking bodies instead.
