In this era of IT, it would be an exaggeration to say that the IT/CSE branches offer much better job opportunities and growth than core branches like Civil. Moreover, one should always prioritize the branch over the brand of the college. No doubt, NIT Rourkela is a better-ranked NIT than NIT Raipur, but its Civil department is not as good as the IT department of NIT Raipur. You should consider the following points before making the final decision
Ultimately, if you want excellent packages, go for NIT Raipur IT, but if you want a core branch, job safety, and better infrastructure, then choose NIT Rourkela.
Let’s consider both scenarios individually to get a better understanding. YMCA CS is a decent option only if you are interested in the field because the opportunities are mostly limited to IT companies. There aren’t many options for further studies.
However, if you go for Electrical/Civil Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra, then you can change your branch at the end of the first year depending upon your CGPA in the first year. In NIT Kurukshetra even the IT companies offer better packages than YMCA. If you are not able to change your branch you can get placed in PSUs. Electrical engineering students also get to choose their profile in their final year amongst Software, power, and control. So you have the flexibility to choose the field in which you want to get placed. You don't have to stick to the branch you took initially. This won’t be possible if you take YMCA CS.
Here is a brief comparison of these institutes

An advantage of choosing NIT Kurukshetra over YMCA is the crowd quality and the NIT tag while YMCA offers a better location and higher growth prospects in the IT field as compared to electrical/Civil where the opportunities are limited.
So make your choice wisely!
NICMAR is one of the few colleges that offers an MBA in Construction Management. Infact, it is a perfect choice if you are into management. An MBA in construction management will open a vast area of work. However, if doing an MBA in other fields excites you, you can try other options as well. It depends on your background meaning from where you have done your graduation.
The average package offered here is INR 6.75 LPA and the average fees in NICMAR is 7.5 Lakhs. So, see if it fits your goals and requirements, then yes go for it.
I will first give you a brief about each. Civil deals with building houses, bridges etc. Metallurgy deals with building high quality metals which are then used in houses, bridges, cars etc.
I’ll compare these two at NIT Jamshedpur to help you with your decision-making-
I recommend you research both these branches and then make your decision. If you have interest in one of these, go for that branch. Other than that, as per me, the Metallurgy branch is better.
NIT Jalandhar for Instrumentation and Control is unquestionably superior to NIT Jalandhar for Civil. There are several points that indicate the same thing. Nearly 90% to 100% of placements are available in the ICE branch. Students of the ICE branch have a chance to get into IT companies which will not happen in Civil.
Furthermore, the faculty at ICE is far superior to that of Civil. Ultimately, you should pursue your interests. Nevertheless, if you're considering Civil, you should be exceptionally enthusiastic about it.
Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology Shibpur (IIEST Shibpur) is the second oldest engineering college in India. It offers 45 courses in Engineering, Management, Science, and Architecture. Admissions are conducted through central exams conducted by UGC like JEE, XAM, etc. IIEST has over 250 faculty members including regular guest faculty. It hosts 4000 students every year for their higher education. Even though the institute is engaged in a number of fields, it is most famous for its B.Tech and M.Tech course of Engineering.
Civil Engineering Department:
The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the oldest departments at IIEST Shibpur. The Civil Engineering course mainly deals with Structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resource engineering, environmental engineering, and transportation engineering.
Mining Engineering Department:
The Department of Mining Engineering at IIEST, Shibpur was the pioneer in imparting Mining Engineering education in the country. Today, it stands as one of the most diverse and vibrant departments encompassing all disciplines within Mining Engineering and associates areas.

Thus it depends entirely upon the student and their interest in Civil or Mechanical Engineering that will help them choose a course. While it is important to mark these differences, any course or college can be the best for the student if he/she knows how to utilize the opportunity completely.
Since you are enquiring about the same branch at two different institutes, it's best to look at the overall rankings first.
The rankings place NIT Jamshedpur higher than NIT Hamirpur. These rankings are based on various factors like academics, research facilities, placements, etc. I had a friend at NIT Hamirpur who claimed that the research culture there is pathetic and the college administration is not supportive at all.
PLaxements-wise, the scenario is similar everywhere as Civil has the least job opportunities. You might check the cutoffs to get an idea of the credibility of the specific branch. Here is a brief comparison of the civil branches of both institutes

You might want to talk to alumni and conduct more detailed research before choosing your college!
One of my friends completed his BTech in civil engineering from NIT Jamshedpur recently. He also cleared the ESE in the final year by preparing for the 2nd year. All he did was devote around 5–6 hours a day for the next two years daily.
Here also mentored the following tips:
Hope the above tips will help you clear IES!
I suggest you give one more attempt at the entrance exams if your age permits. Otherwise, if you are planning to take admission this year itself, then you can choose NICMAR.
NICMAR is a reputed institute with good placements. The highest salary goes to 16-17 LPA and the average ranges to 7-8 LPA. Irrespective of your undergraduate, you can learn and gain management knowledge.
There are many companies in the corporate industry that prefer civil engineers for management roles, so you can grab a good placement for this college, and you can also participate in various case competitions organized by various companies and grab a placement from there as well.
