Before jumping to the conclusion, let us understand all the aspects of the college which can make you feel that it is good for you or not.

• Ragging – There is absolutely no ragging on the campus except for some fun interactions and are actually good ways to build up a rapport with them. Physical or mental assault is absolutely not permitted on campus.
• Education – The college has an adequate number of professors but the problem lies in having “good” professors. No doubt that they are highly qualified and are highly educated but they cannot deliver the same in an interesting way 
• Placement – Hardly one or two companies come for core civil engineering jobs and the rest of others offer IT sector or sales and marketing jobs. There are many students who happily take them but if you are one who wants to do a job in a core civil engineering company then it is really difficult.

Other than that Heritage Institute of Technology is a good college. If you have no problem with the above-mentioned things then it is a very good choice otherwise it may not look so attractive to you.

The Bachelor’s in Technology Program at Jain University has been ranked at No. 7 in Bangalore by the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF). The B.Tech Program at Jain University with a specialization in Civil Engineering builds a strong foundation and offers to learn at an individual pace. Admission:

• In order to study for the B.Tech Program at Jain University, the candidate must have completed their studies till the 12th standard and must have passed along with their compulsory subjects as Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics with an aggregate of 60% in all the subjects mentioned.

• Along with passing 12th grade, the candidate is required to give the entrance exam of JET to be eligible for admission at Jain University B.Tech (Civil Engineering) Program.

Placement:

• The civil engineering branch at Jain University offers placement opportunities in various sectors, be it public or private, among Geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, hydraulic, environmental engineering, transportation engineering, or infrastructural engineering.

• According to the placement statistics of 2019, 94.9 % of the batch was recruited.

• The highest salary package announced at Jain University ranges around 30 LPA. Whereas, the average salary package offered is around 7 LPA.

Jain University also offers add-on programs in CADD using CYPE, STAADPRO, RIVET with BTech Civil Engineering. Students are also given the opportunity to do soft-skill development programs in certification as Fire Safety Building Technologist.

If you are a Civil student, my advice to you would be to prepare for the GATE exam once you are done with your degree. The placement is quite low for core companies. Many students also follow the same.

Chemical students are known to focus on jobs and have a good placement in analytics and software-based companies. Many of the top ones also land core jobs.

My suggestion would be to check the syllabus and pick the subject you like. You will realize which subject has good scope and what does not. As far as Civil is concerned, most students land jobs at L&T. But, they will make you work a lot and you will not be satisfied with the pay. This is not the case with Chemical engineering.

According to the ranking, faculty, placements, salaries, etc. IIT Indore will be a better choice than IIT Bhubaneswar for civil engineering.

IIT Indore ranks 13th among the engineering colleges in India in NIRF Rankings 2019. The placements in IIT Indore is 99% with maximum offers for CSE and IT departments. Companies like Tata Motors, Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil, Deloitte, etc. Companies participating in IIT Indore offer its civil engineering students an average salary package of 16 lakhs per annum. In 2018, the salary package in IIT Indore rose to 18 lakhs per annum and the highest being 43 lakhs per annum.

IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is one of the newer IITs established in 2008. The institute collaborates with foreign universities such as University of Warwick, University of Southampton, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, University of Western Ontario, University of New York, University of North Dakota USA, and McGill University. Placements in IIT Bhubaneswar is 89% in Civil Engineering. IIT Bhubaneswar students were offered 11 lakhs per annum and the highest being 39 lakhs per annum. The top recruiters include WIPRO, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Samsung, Microsoft, Deloitte, Amazon, Adobe, TATA Steel, TATA Advanced Systems, Thermax, TETCOS, L&T Construction, L&T Ltd.,

Some of my friends studied at MNNIT, so I might be able to answer your question. It is suggested that you choose Mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad rather than Civil at NIT Trichy.

Your branch of choice is more important than your college preference. In terms of opportunities, Mechanical Engineering has a slight advantage over Civil Engineering

Mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad has a consistent placement record. Mechanical students receive more job offers than Civil Engineering graduates. PSUs often choose Mechanical Engineering graduates.

Finally, everything depends on your interest and choice. So think wisely and then make any decision, because this will be the building blocks of your career.

Both IGDTUW Delhi and PEC Chandigarh are reputed colleges and are equally good but both these courses are very different from each other. 

If you are interested in higher studies and want to do M.Tech or Ph.D., then only opt for PEC civil. The pressure for studies would be less. You also have no restrictions in doing extracurricular activities. Here you can focus on other things besides studies, like on your hobbies or learning and developing a new skill or a new language which can be helpful in your career.
