I don’t think it’s wrong to recommend colleges to someone solely based on affiliation. It’s better to evaluate colleges based on performance and placements. Colleges with JNTU affiliation like KMIT offered packages around INR 30 LPA and performed better than most of other colleges.
Deccan is affiliated with OU but it’s wrong to suggest students choose Deccan over KMIT only because it’s affiliated with OU. Consider criteria like placements, faculty, facilities, etc., and make a sound decision after taking advice from your seniors.
Overall, it’s better to prioritize autonomous colleges, over colleges like OU and e.
Both JNTUH and OU are very good and reputed institutes, but there is no certain answer to which one is better in terms of correction.
Hence, there is no such clear winner on which correction is better, but if you write down your answers properly with good handwriting, then you are very likely to score good marks.
At the very start of the journey at JNTUH students think that 4-5 years is a long time for a degree but once the studies start time flows by very fast. Some of my friends studied at JNTUH and here’s what they experienced.
Student politics has been seen declining every year. Alcohol and drug intake are strictly prohibited and serious actions are taken against those who don’t follow them.
State Universities like JNTU, Osmania, and Andhra University are underrated for various reasons.
Mostly these are the reasons.
As per the Academic Regulations R16 of JNTUH, once you have secured 192 credits you can leave 02 courses (06 credits). These might be
As a result, you will have a total of 186 credits for your performance evaluation. Only these 186 credits will be taken into consideration for the calculation of your CGPA and the same will be mentioned in your grade card.
However, it’s important to note that you have to secure all 192 credits. The option of leaving 2 subjects is just to improve your CGPA.
From the above information, it can be concluded that you cannot be exempted from the Engineering Mechanics course because it is one of the Foundation courses of Engineering and not an elective.
JNTUH is a very popular and reputed college and this college offers various kinds of courses such as B.Tech, IIDP, Dual degree program, etc. One of my friends studying there said, there are a lot of good and bad things about the college. He said that these will probably improve.
Here are some of the good things about this college.
Here are some of the bad things about JNTU Hyderabad:
These are some of the good things about this college and if these problems are being resolved, then this college can be one of the best engineering colleges in our country.
Yes, you will get a stipend for securing an admission into JNTUH through GATE. MHRD offers a stipend to all the students who crack the GATE exam for their M.Tech. and get admission into an AICTE recognized institution.
Regular M.Tech students get a stipend during both years of their degree. A stipend is also offered to final year students of integrated dual degree programs. You can avail this stipend only if you are not entitled to any financial assistance from some other organization. Therefore, sponsored category candidates and candidates who are in receipt of state government scholarships are not eligible for it.
If you fulfill these requirements, you are eligible for a stipend as you got a seat at JNTUH for your M.Tech after qualifying the GATE exam.
Branch changing or sliding is not possible at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH). While applying for options in the counseling, you must do it very carefully. One of my cousins was a part of the institute, and he mentions that the atmosphere of the college is more important than the branch you are studying in.
My cousin once heard and learned that branch change was possible, with certain factors in hand, but has never practically seen one do it. It is best if you perform research on your own, and find out whether or not it is deemed possible at present.
Doing an M.Tech in EC is better at JNTUH. Though Osmania University is an old institution with a history of more than 100 years, it lacks in PG and Ph.D. courses.
JNTUH on the contrary has a good reputation along with great infrastructure and strict guidelines in terms of the faculty members. The university cross-checks the background of each faculty member who will be teaching the students every year.
The following table shows a brief insight into both institutions:
Particulars | OU | JNTUH |
Placement percent | 70% | 80% |
Highest CTC | INR 20 LPA | INR 17 LPA |
Average CTC | INR 5 LPA | INR 9.5 LPA |
Lowest CTC | INR 2 LPA | INR 3.5 LPA |
Top recruiting companies | Infosys, CTC, BEL, Wipro Tech, BEML | TCS, Oracle, MRC, Vedanta, ZOHO |
In terms of curriculum, JNTUH follows the latest syllabus and has a strict attendance system. It has a biometric attendance system and you can be detained if you have less than 75% attendance. If you are looking forward for higher education in engineering, go for JNTUH.
If your family income is below 1 Lakh rupees and you have a certificate for the same from the Telangana Government, you can claim a fee reimbursement at OU or JNTUH. However, reimbursement and scholarship are available to those students who have qualified in Telangana state EAMCET/ECET/PGECET and got admission through counseling.
These documents are required to apply for the fee reimbursement- SSC Marks Memo, Inter or 10+2 Marks Memo, Transfer Certificate, Mee Seva Income Certificate, Mee Seva Caste Certificate for BC, SC/ST, Ration Card, Aadhaar Card, Bank Pass Book Front Page, Allotment Order, Passport Size Photo, Parents’ Aadhaar Cards, PAN Cards Information, Study Certificates for last 7 years in the state of Telangana.
If you belong to Andhra Pradesh and have taken the Telangana state EAMCET, and you got admission at OU or JNTUH through Telangana State Counseling, you can also apply for the fee reimbursement given that you meet all the above requirements and have all the above-mentioned documents from your state.
