Which one is better for CSE: Jaypee Institute of Information Technology or NIT Hamirpur?

AB
Aditi Banerjee Posted On : September 14th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

There are several factors which one can consider while comparing two institutions. Here are some things that I considered while choosing my college.

NIT Hamirpur will offer you the prestigious ‘NIT’ tag. As compared to other colleges in this region, the environment over there is superior. By environment I mean the learning, interaction and personal development offered at an institution. The placements are continuously improving with new companies visiting the campus each year, offering better packages. This college has shown positive growth in terms of exposure and student- teacher interaction as well.

Even though I’m a student of NIT Hamirpur, my opinion is devoid of such biases. Thus, according to me, NIT Hamirpur is a better choice for your CSE program.

JIIT Noida (sector 128) would be suitable for pursuing a B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. Choosing JIIT (Jaypee Institute of Information Technology) in Noida over Sharda University for a B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) can be influenced by several factors. They are as follows

Reputation: JIIT is a deemed university under section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956. JIIT was ranked 101st in the engineering category by NIRF in 2023. This institute has proven its academic excellence for the past 22 years.

Placement: The table below describes the placement history of both colleges.

Particulars

JIIT Noida (sector 128)

Sharda University

Highest Salary 2023

INR 82.89 LPA

INR 30 LPA

Average Salary 2023

INR 11.37 LPA

INR 5.65 LPA

Top recruiters

Amazon, Deloitte, Cognizant, Infosys, EY etc.

Vaco, Genesis ATC, Dominus Labs InMobi etc.

Notable Alumni: Jaspreet Makkar (Founder, Visual AI), Ria Rustagi (Co-Founder & COO, Neuphony), and many more are notable alumni of this prestigious organization.

It is safe to conclude that if you prioritize academic reputation, a demanding academic environment with experienced faculty, well-established infrastructure, a competitive peer group, and the potential benefits of national recognition and a strong alumni network, choosing JIIT (Jaypee Institute of Information Technology) over Sharda University for your B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) can be a positive decision.

Which is better, IET Lucknow or Jaypee Noida sector 62 in terms of placement and college life?

ST
Sathi Talukder Posted On : August 4th, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

Students who join IET Lucknow tend to have higher ranks in JEE (Mains) than JIIT Noida. But JIIT Noida is mostly preferred by students, here’s why:

Location

  • Due to its location, JIIT Noida is mostly preferred. Being closer to Delhi, it has access to nearby corporate houses and IT firms.
  • Students get to attend seminars and industry visits quite often.

Quality of Education

  • The faculty is much better at JIIT Noida. Being a private institution, it provides personality development and other exposures.
  • Students tend to follow a routine and are disciplined.

Placements

  • JIIT Noida is better than IET Lucknow in placements for sure.
  • The CSE department is the best among others.
  • The highest and the second-highest salary offered at JIIT Noida to the batch of 2016-20 are INR 43.17 LPA by Adobe and INR 34 LPA by DE Shaw.
  • CSE is also the best branch at IET Lucknow.
  • Students get placement offers from Microsoft with a salary of INR 37 LPA. However, on average it is decent.
  • Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is a regular recruiter at IET Lucknow for ECE students.

Being a government-run college, IET has far fewer restrictions than JIIT Noida which appeals to many students. But it lacks in personality development and other exposures which you will get at JIIT Noida.

Now that you have known about both the colleges, I think you can clearly understand yourself and make a choice according to what you need.

Should I take electronics and communication at JIIT Noida or BIET Jhansi?

SS
Sudeshna Sengupta Posted On : April 21st, 2021
B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering, Kamla Nehru Institute Of Technology (2016)

Many of the students do not find ECE as an interesting branch due to the following reason:

  1. It is often seen that India has less scope in ECE among all the other engineering branches.
  2. In the private sector, the value of CS/IT is more than ECE. They also have better packages than ECE.
  3. If the student wants to go for PSU, there is greater scope in Mechanical or Electrical.
  4. If the student wants to go for engineering services, Civil is a better option.
  5. And if the student wants to go for higher education, any branch can be taken as per their choice.

Now, coming back to the choice between the two colleges, we know:

  • JIIT Noida will help the student land a job after 4 years of engineering in ECE or any other branch in any MNC offering packages between 4-4.5 LPA.
  • If the student wants to secure a big position in any Electronics company, then they will be in the top position among the ECE graduates.
  • Very few core ECE companies visit the campus for recruitments and select a very less number of students.
  • However, the students can also try for off-campus placements.
  • The faculties at both institutes are good.

If the student wants to secure good, any college between the two can be chosen but the student will have to work hard. A lot of effort will be needed in ECE organizations.

Comparing MMMUT and JIIT for engineering, the clear-cut answer is that JIIT is much better than MMMUT.

  • It has many advantages when it comes to the campus, placement, the environment, and such.
  • JIIT is considered to be the best private college among all the colleges that fall under Delhi NCR.
  • The location of the college just adds to the perks. Due to the same, the majority of people are from the NCR so you can expect the kind of environment the college has.
  • The type of people you are surrounded with matters the most in your college life.
  • The placement is surely much better than at MMMUT.

Which is the best for Civil Engineering, Thapar University or CSE in Jaypee Noida?

AG
Ajit Goyal Posted On : August 12th, 2021
Studied at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida (2019)

It would be advisable to choose the branch as per your interest first. And then if you figure out that you have an interest in civil engineering, you should go to Thapar. On the other hand, if you have an interest in computer science then you should go to Jaypee Noida.

  • Thapar University and Jaypee Noida are both good.
  • The main thing to be concerned about is your interest in the stream.
  • Both the colleges are very reputed but Thapar has a slight edge over Jaypee.
  • The placement record for Jaypee for the past year has not been as good as compared to the previous year‘s records.
  • But if you compare Thapar’s civil and Jaypee’s CS, then you should opt for CS at Jaypee.
H
Category Civil Engineering at Thapar University CSE at Jaypee Noida
Total Fee INR 66,000 INR 2,62,750
Companies Visited Wipro, Adobe, Samsung, Ambuja Cement, etc. Adobe, Cisco, Amazon, Capgemini, etc.
Highest Package 24 LPA 28 LPA
Average Package 8-10 LPA 12 LPA
Category Civil Engineering at Thapar University CSE at Jaypee Noida
Total Fee INR 66,000 INR 2,62,750
Companies Visited Wipro, Adobe, Samsung, Ambuja Cement, etc. Adobe, Cisco, Amazon, Capgemini, etc.
Highest Package 24 LPA 28 LPA
Average Package 8-10 LPA 12 LPA

Being a student of Jaypee myself, I can say that Thapar’s placement records are better, especially recently.

  • The institute offers multiple opportunities to opt from a variety of software-based companies, such as Cognizant and Infosys for a quick instance.
  • However, the placement you secure usually only depends upon how well prepared you are for it.
