Not many universities or colleges in India offer integrated B.Sc-B.Ed courses. If you want to pursue teaching as a profession, then doing a B.Sc-B.Ed integrated course will save you one year of coursework. The syllabus is almost the same. So, what matters more is the faculty. According to some reviews online, the Department of English at Assam University since its establishment, students from various parts of the country have been pursuing their studies M.A., M. Phil., and Ph.D. Degrees. 

The success rate of the students has been high. If you get any other better options from other NITs or IITs then go for it. Assam University is overall good considering the environment, infrastructure, and facilities. The CSE department is better among the others.

Assam University has a diverse student crowd. Success mainly depends on how well you know the subject you are pursuing, your skills, and how you prepare to shape your future. If you are hardworking enough the institute would not be a problem. If you need a more disciplined institute that will guide you in every way, then it might not be a good choice.

What will I do after getting a seat in Assam University through the CSAB?

After being allotted a seat you need to report to the Assam university with all the required documents. These include:

  • Seat Allotment Letter issued by CSAB.
  • JEE Rank Card.
  • Photo ID proof as per Government of India norms.
  • Original certificate of Date of Birth issued by a competent authority or class 10th Board certificate for the proof of Date of Birth.
  • Original Marksheets of classes 10, 11, and 12.
  • Original certificate of Social category (OBC/SC/ST) if applicable.
  • Non Creamy layer Certificate for candidates of OBC category.
  • Caste Validity Certificate for candidates having Caste Certificate issued by the state of Maharashtra.
  • Original Certificates with persons with disabilities.
  • Transfer / Migration Certificate.
  • 4 Passport size photographs.
