One of my friends studied at IET Lucknow. Here’s what I gathered about the college from him and a bit of research on the internet.

• A majority of the students from the colleges affiliated with the UPTU end up doing higher studies such as M.Tech or MBA.
• They may also need centers for coaching classes and there are plenty of them around IET Lucknow.
• In addition to that, a number of companies visit IET Lucknow during the placement session.
• It is the best option after HBTI Kanpur if you are looking forward to getting employed right after graduation.
• One of the best things about IET Lucknow is the high speed internet available for the students.
• As it is an institute under the government, the fees are less compared to other institutes.
• The location of the institute also works in its favor.
• Modes of conveyance are easily available.

Owing to the fact that it is one of the top colleges that is affiliated with UPTU, it succeeds in attracting more and more applicants. The institute is good for applicants who want to pursue CS.

Apart from these, the institute provides a good environment for study for students who wish to appear for their GATE and CAT exams. Students from IET often top both exams. The network of alumni of IET Lucknow is well renowned.

Placements in IET Lucknow does not depend upon the branch. Though a majority of students are placed in many prestigious companies through campus placement from the branches like CSE, IT, and ECE. 

There are high chances of students getting placements from various other core branches. Also, some students score well in GATE and get placement in PSUs.

Despite of so many offers for many-core branches, it depends upon how you are grabbing those opportunities. If you are pursuing engineering from IET Lucknow, always go for your holistic development in all the fields rather than focusing just on your academics. This can help you immensely to get placed in decent companies.

IET Lucknow does not accept JEE Main score for their admission process. You must have a valid score in UPSEE to get a seat.

In case you have not applied for UPSEE then you can try for HBTU Kanpur or Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur. These colleges are almost at the same level as IET Lucknow and JEE Main scores are accepted here for admission. 

MMMUT also conducts its own entrance exam i.e. MET exam and some seats are reserved for JEE Main candidates. 

IET Lucknow being one of the top colleges under AKTU is one of the most preferred colleges by the students in UPSEE counseling. Usually, it accepts students with a general rank under 2000 in UPSEE with a little margin for the OBC category. 

With the mentioned rank, there is almost no chance for you to be accepted into this college. However, you can get one of the three Rajkiye Engineering Colleges (RECs) at this rank. You can also try for certain other private colleges such as AKG or JSS.

 Give a try in other private colleges till the last counseling rounds as admission in IET, Lucknow with these ranks is almost impossible to get.

One of my friends pursued Civil Engineering from IET Lucknow. According to him, Civil engineering at IET Lucknow is really good. Let me share some facts I gathered from him, which might help you understand the question a bit better.

• When my friend joined the college, the word was that IET Lucknow has one amongst the best faculty when it comes to the Civil Engineering Department.
• The curriculum requires you to follow standard books which help in building fundamental concepts and are helpful for the preparation of various competitions.
• As far as the laboratories of the department are concerned, some laboratories are not up to date but rest assured, these are amongst the best you will get in any AKTU college.
• The laboratories which are not up to mark, still have most of the instruments in working condition.

The Civil Engineering course at IET Lucknow is good. It is suggested that you should go for it, as it will help you shape your career ahead. Civil Engineering might have a bit fewer placements than CSE or IT, but on a standard basis, it is quite a good institution.

As one of my cousins studied at IET Lucknow, I might be able to answer your question. According to him, IET Lucknow does not have a good placement record. Very few students actually get placed from the on-campus placement. 

• CSE and IT only have the best reputation and demand among students.
• Hardly one or two students get job opportunities by Adobe and HSBC, they tend to offer better packages.
• There are very few placement opportunities for Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical departments.
• There are a few core companies visiting the campus during placements.
• The college is mainly dependent on mass recruiters like TCS, who offer packages around 3.5 LPA.
• If you are enthusiastic about CAT or GATE exams, then only choose this college.
• The GATE results of Electronics and Instrumentation and Chemical are great.

Overall, the institute has an average reputation. The companies will hire you because of your practical knowledge and skills. If you are not skilled enough, securing a job offer will be difficult.
