What questions were asked in the NMIMS Mumbai interview? What were the case discussion topics?

AD
Anuraag Das Posted On : June 2nd, 2023
Studied at MBA from NMIMS (2020)

Most MBA interviews usually start with your resume, so it becomes utterly important that you’re thorough with your resume and can speak at least 3-4 sentences about every keyword that is mentioned in your resume.

Get acquainted with all the recent happenings worldwide, especially things that align with your profile and interests. NMIMS is known for its case discussions during interviews.

The important thing to remember now is that they are not looking for exact answers because the case lets are usually management cases, and they don’t expect you to know that before actually completing your MBA, they are judging you on the basis of your approach toward the questions.

Ask important questions, tell them your assumptions, and it’s never a bad idea to think out loud. Tell them how you will approach a particular question and why you think it is the right way.

How is the GD-PI experience at IIM Rohtak?

VB
Vineeta Borah Posted On : January 18th, 2023
PGDM from Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (Graduated 2018)

Because these institutes lack the resources to conduct their own selection process, all of the new IIMs use a Common Admission Process (CAP). If you have received calls from older IIMs, new IIMs will accept your scores from those institutes and you will not be required to take the CAP. Furthermore, there is no GD in CAP, only Written Ability Tests and Personal Interviews.

Many students who have taken the CAP exam say that the interviews are just like any other, except that the stakes are higher. The questions typically include an introduction, hobbies, questions about work experience and academics, and general knowledge questions in the case of freshers.

Veer Jain Posted On : June 28th, 2023
Studied at Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore (2019)

Preparing for the IIM Indore IPM interview requires some important considerations. The interview generally includes three types of questions - general knowledge questions, questions related to academics, and questions based on a candidate's interest. It is recommended that candidates keep themselves updated with current affairs, and have a good understanding of their past academic achievements.

The duration of the interview ranges from 20-35 minutes, and the evaluation criteria generally include a candidate's ability to communicate fluently, ability to make logical arguments, confidence, and overall attitude. Therefore, candidates should practice their communication skills and work on developing a positive attitude.

It is also important for candidates to be aware of the rationale behind pursuing the course and be determined about their goals. They should be prepared to discuss why they chose the IPM course and how it aligns with their career goals.

Apart from the above, candidates should also research the institute and the course to be able to answer questions about it. It is also advisable to practice mock interviews to gain confidence and prepare oneself for unexpected questions.

What extempore topics can one expect in the IIM Rohtak interview this year?

AS
Agastya Shikhar Posted On : January 11th, 2023
Director at ReGraduate | MBA, FMS Delhi

The extempore topics at IIM Rohtak interviews usually comprise the hot topics or current affairs of the present and previous year. Some of them might be related to elections, bills passed, the pandemic wave, vaccination, or social media.

You might also be asked about the trending Business strategies. They can ask you about the changes in every industry due to the pandemic. Study the recent trends in various industries like retail, pharma, health care, education, and manufacturing.

One thing to keep in mind is while speaking, try to deliver your content precisely and concisely. Don’t go into detail as they care about your manner of delivering more than your content.

What should be the approach to crack the IIM Rohtak interview if you have workex?

SG
Shrishti Ganguly Posted On : July 31st, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

Well, IIM Rohtak is the newly established institution for pursuing MBA. The college offers MBA in Management Information System, Organizational Behavior, HRM, Marketing & Strategy, Finance & Accounting, Operation and Economics, Public Policy. It is given 21st rank by NIRF in 2020.

Now coming to your question, I would like to share one of my cousins’ experiences about this, who scored 95.92 percentile in CAT 2019.

  • He is 24 years old and he is an automobile engineer from Manipal Institute of Technology.
  • His grades have been 90+ so far with 92.71, 90, and 9.13 in 10th, 12th and engineering respectively.
  • He got a call from IIM Rohtak being his profile was good and also he was a gold medalist in Academics (5th SEM - Engineering).
  • Also, he interned in Amazon in Operations and Fulfillment and in Accenture as a mainframe developer.

He shared with me his experience of how the interview went on for 10 minutes and consisted of 2-4 questions on his Curricula, GK and academics.

  • The first question was an extempore on the topic “Women make better managers than men” and the time limit was 1 min for thinking and 2 mins for speaking.
  • There were more questions on the qualities of a manager, a couple of questions on my academics, and 2 questions on GK.
  • There were also questions on his gap year after work and also on his challenges as a manager he faced handling a team of 200-300 in Amazon.
  • He mentioned that it is good to assist your answer with brief examples if any and describing a specific situation that you handled clearly.
  • The panelists also checked his certificates and posed a few questions on them.

But, I would kindly suggest you keep your calm. Remember that confidence is key and always stay honest and humble. Start with a greeting and be polite. The first few minutes would be when the first impression will be set and you need to put your best foot forward. Good Luck.

When it comes to preparing for an interview, it's natural to feel overwhelmed and unsure of where to start. However, it's important to remember that with the right approach, you can ace your interview and make a great impression on your potential employer.

Firstly, it's essential to focus on your academic knowledge and aptitude, as these are often key factors that employers consider while hiring. Take the time to review your academic records and refresh your memory on key concepts.

In addition to this, it's important to pay attention to your personality and how you present yourself in the interview. This can include things like body language, tone of voice, and communication skills. Consider practicing with a friend or family member to get feedback on how you come across in a professional setting.

While it's true that current affairs may not come up in the interview, it's always a good idea to stay informed and up-to-date on relevant news and trends in your industry. When it comes to preparing for the interview, take advantage of resources like past interview experiences and do's and don'ts guides. These can provide valuable insights into what to expect and how to best present yourself.

Even if you're unsure if you want to join the company, it's always a good idea to attend the interview and keep your options open. If you are selected, you can then make an informed decision based on your experience during the interview process.

With the right preparation and mindset, you can approach your interview with confidence and increase your chances of landing the job. Focus on your academic knowledge, aptitude, and personality, stay informed on current affairs and take advantage of available resources to make the most of the opportunity.
