The Selection Committee under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu has released the tentative Round 2 counselling schedule for the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) degree course. The notification was issued on September 21, 2026 on the official portal at tnmedicalselection.net. The schedule covers admissions to government dental colleges and management quota seats in self-financing dental colleges for the 2026-2027 academic session.
Round 1 of the Tamil Nadu MDS counselling 2026 concluded earlier this month. Seat allotment for Round 1 was released on September 5, 2026. Reporting for allotted candidates was held from September 6 to 11, 2026. Round 2 opens a fresh opportunity for candidates who missed Round 1 or wish to upgrade.

Who Is Eligible for Tamil Nadu MDS Round 2 Counselling 2026?
Candidates who qualified NEET MDS 2026 conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) are eligible. Applicants must hold a BDS degree from a college recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI). State quota aspirants must satisfy Tamil Nadu nativity norms. Candidates who joined a Round 1 seat and did not resign within the stipulated window cannot participate as fresh registrants.

The Round 2 seat allotment result will be published on the official portal on the scheduled date. Candidates must log in using their registered credentials to view the allotment. Selected candidates must download the provisional allotment order. They must then report to the allotted college within the reporting window to complete admission formalities.
