New Delhi: BTech students of NMIMS School of Technology Management and Engineering (STME) in Indore, Riyanshi Bariya, Vandita Pathak, and Shalom Ram have developed an innovative healthcare device named 'Sehat Sathi: A Smart and Automated Medication Dispenser'.

Designed by a team of diligent BTech students from NMIMS STME Indore, the 'Sehat Sathi' device is a testament to their dedication, vision, and commitment to solving real-world problems through innovative technological solutions.

The application was developed by three Computer Engineering students from NMIMS Indore in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology (DST) under Government of India, along with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU), DST-Centre for Policy Research at Punjab University, and the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology.

Congratulating the Sehat Sathi Team, Dr. Munendra Jain, Associate Professor, NMIMS, School of Technology Management; Engineering said, “The success of the Sehat Sathi project is a testament to the thriving spirit of innovation and collaboration, present at the NMIMS STME Indore campus, and the potential for technology to drive positive change in various industries, particularly healthcare”.

The team conceived the idea for this healthcare device based on their encounters and observations. They recognise the escalating problem of medical non-adherence among the elderly, occasionally resulting in severe hospitalizations and urgent medical attention.

After thorough research and brainstorming sessions, they formulated the concept of 'Sehat Sathi', harnessing advanced technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in an affordable and innovative approach.

According to the BTech (Computer Engineering) Student of NMIMS Indore, “The project's success is a spirit of teamwork and the constant support and guidance from NMIMS STME Indore faculty throughout their journey”.

“We look forward to making the technology more efficient and user-friendly by further developing and refining systems. We also wish to explore more opportunities to partner and collaborate with leading organisations and prospective investors to make Sehat Sathi available to a broader audience, including healthcare providers, caregivers, and individuals who require medication management solutions.”
