The University Grants Commission(UGC) has granted permission to the Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak to start six new online programs for the students for the academic year of 2023-24. Read Details Below!
Rohtak: The University Grants Commission has granted permission to the MDU, Rohtak to start six new online courses for the students under the umbrella of the Centre for Distance and Online Education(CDOE) for the academic year of 2023-24.
Prof. Singh proudly stated that MDU has been at the forefront of promoting digital learning practices and the addition of six new online programs will further enhance the University's standing in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) grading. He extended his congratulations to the CDOE for spearheading this digital education initiative.
As stated by Prof. Nasib Singh Gill, the Distance Education Board (DEB) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted permission for starting of six courses in the Maharshi Dayanand University, those are online Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Master of Arts (M.A.) programs in Hindi, History, Political Science, Economics, and Public Administration, starting from the current academic session i.e. 2023-24.
Director of Digital Learning Centre (DLC) Prof. Gill expressed that this permission for online programs would significantly enhance the University's digital teaching and learning practices.
Prof. Rajbir Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, emphasized that M.D. University isto implementing the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which includes the introduction of online education.
Notably, MDU had already introduced two postgraduate programs, M.Com and M.Sc (Mathematics), through online mode in the previous session. Prof. Rajbir Singh asserted that this new development represents a significant milestone in the university's journey of progress and growth.
