IIT Indore to Offer 6 New MTech Programs

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Indore is all set to offer 6 new MTech programmes from the academic year 2023-24. Interested candidates can check their eligibility criteria and apply online via the official portal @iiti.ac.in.

IIT Indore has invited a total of 75 highly motivated and research-oriented applicants and offers admission to these MTech and MS (Research) Programs in Computer Science & Engineering, Water, Climate & Sustainability, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Optics & Laser Technology, Structural Engineering and Defence Technology.

IIT Indore MTech Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria & Qualifying Exam

Name of the Specialisation	Eligibility Criteria	Qualifying Exam
Defence Technology	a four-year bachelor's degree in engineering with first division or first class standing, as specified by the awarding institute or university for Indian applicants and the equivalent for foreign applicants, as determined by the institute. For applicants who are SC, ST, or PwD, the qualifying degree requirement may be relaxed by 5%. Only Indian citizens are allowed to participate in this programme.	(At least two years of experience in the defence laboratory, ISRO, the defence sector, or a closely related, limited industry)
Structural Engineering	Civil engineering bachelor's degree with a first division, as defined by the awarding institute/university for Indian applicants, or a five-year integrated degree, as determined by the institute, for applicants from other countries. SC, ST, and PwD category applicants are eligible for a 5% degree relaxation.	A valid GATE qualification in Civil Engineering
Applied Optics and Laser Technology	A B.E/ B.Tech degree in following specialisations like (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics and Communication/ Instrumentation and Control/Production and Industrial Engineering/ Biotechnology/ Engineering Physics/Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science/Aerospace Engineering/Space science Engineering/) or M.Sc. Biomedical Engineering	A B.E./B.Tech. /AMIE degree or equivalent in Biomedical Engineering (BM), Biotechnology (BT), Chemical Engineering (CH), Computer Science and Engineering/ Information Technology (CS), Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics/Telecommunications Engineering (EC), Engineering Physics (EP), Instrumentation Engineering (IN), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Metallurgical & Materials Science (MT), Pharmaceutical Technology (PY), Other Engineering (ZE) (with the first division as defined by the awarding Institute/University) OR An M.Sc. Degree or equivalent in Biochemistry (BY), Biophysics (BP), Biotechnology (BT), Ceramics (CG), Chemistry (CY), Electronics / Electronic Sciences (EC), Ergonomics (ER), Materials Science (MS), Mathematics (MA), Molecular Biology (MG), Physics (PH), Physiology (PS), Other Science (ZS) (with the first division as defined by the awarding Institute/University) OR Health Sciences degree holders such as candidates with MBBS (Medicine) / BDS (Dental), B.Pharm/B.V.Sc., B.P.Th. ,B.O.Th., B.ASLP) (Duration 4 years or more) (with the first division as defined by the awarding Institute/University)	Valid GATE score in any discipline for engineering and science graduates (for (i) and (ii) of MEQ)
Water, Climate and Sustainability	A four-year bachelor's degree in civil, agricultural, infrastructure, environmental, or geomatics engineering, or a five-year integrated degree (with first division, as specified by the awarding institute/university for Indian applicants and equivalent for international applicants, as assessed by the institute). SC and ST applicants are eligible for a qualification degree relaxation in accordance with GoI regulations.	A valid GATE Score and/ or Interview ("compulsory for TA category)
Computer Science and Engineering	A four-year bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering or information technology, or a five-year integrated degree with first division (as defined by the awarding institute/university for Indian applicants and equivalent for overseas applicants).	A valid GATE certification in computer science and information technology (CS) is required for Indian aspirants. A valid GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, or comparable score, a statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, and an interview (in person or by video conference) are required for international applicants.

IIT Indore MTech Admission 2023: How to Apply?

Candidates intending to apply can register on COAP 2023 portal @coap.iitkgp.ac.in, whereas international applicants can apply through @academic.iiti.ac.in. Candidates can go through the following steps to register for MTech programmes.

Step 1: Visit the official website of IIT Indore (For International Applicants) or COAP IIT KGP (For Indian Applicants) @coap.iitkgp.ac.in/.

Step 2: On the homepage, search for “Registration" and register yourself by entering the required details.

Step 3: Now, login using your registration credentials and fill the application form.

Step 4: Next, upload all the required documents, pay the requisite application fee and preview the application form.

Step 5: Finally, hit on ‘Submit’ and take a printout of the form for all your future references.
