IIT Guwahati Collaborates With NSDC and Rooman Tech to Start Advanced Skill Development Courses

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) has recently signed MoUs with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Rooman Technologies to introduce unique advanced skill certificate courses based on microcredits for Indian youth. 

The curriculum for the advanced skill courses will include topics like AI-ML, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, VLSI, Data Science, etc. All the courses will be available as online training sessions led by IIT Guwahati faculty. The MoUs were signed by NSDC CEO Ved Mani Tiwari and Rooman Technologies CEO Manish Kumar.

The collaboration will ensure that the credits earned through these courses will be added to the degree that students will pursue, as per the requirements of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. 

The MoUs aim to develop the necessary adaptation and marketable skills within upcoming working professionals so that they may be able to participate in the competitive job market with ease. The collaboration will also enhance India’s semiconductor industry and give students in BTech/BE/BSc/BCA/MCA courses the skills needed to enter the VLSI field. 

Ved Mani Tiwari spoke at the signing event, saying, “Our collaboration with Rooman Technologies is a progressive step in this endeavor [to develop skills among students]. The initiative will develop a proficient talent pool that meets the demand for skilled professionals within the semiconductor industry while also offering tech enthusiasts abundant opportunities to expedite their professional growth and development”.
